Givenchy S/S 2014 Paris

I'm glad it's not about those ugly printed tee shirts anymore but unfortunately I'm still not quite digging it. Some dresses were really nice but we all know what Tisci is capable of and this is not his best work.

I havn't seen Givenchy done this good outfits for long.
Well Done !

This collection feels more soft, more polished compared to his previous collections. Don't like the shoes at all.

I'm so glad he put some more effort in the clothes, I'm really liking most of this collection.

Also, the bejeweled faces look fantastic, adore the make-up.

Love this pic with the outline of Grace, Anna and Suzy.

Amazing collection. I love pretty much all of it. Yay for Riccardo! :D

The bejewelled faces were incredible, Pat is a genius

I didn't like it initially as i thought it made the models looking like fire victims or something  But then somehow i find it quite intriguing & interesting  I wonder what's the inspiration behind these masks? Reminds me slightly of the ancient Egyptian masks.

Finally! He has proven that he's able to deliver a great collection after many lackluster seasons. No rottweilers, no tshirts, no awkward prints anymore. This is the Tisci that I love and that I've missed for many years.

What a snooze-fest. This is so boring.

Anyway, it’s telling to see that no one here mentioned the nonexistent connexion between this collection and the archive of the brand. Not that I care; actually, I like when designers work freely, without taking into account blasé comments that could restrict their work. Nevertheless, I’m almost sure that at eight o’clock this part of the forum will be riddled with “How disrespectful” comments because of Hedi’s collection. Just like it was last year, when, in fact, his Grunge collection referenced much more the brand’s past than this does (not that I see it as something positive, though).

Even if one has an extreme bias towards Givenchy, I don't see how anyone would call this boring lol:pink:

agree with general consensus...so nice to see he's evolved and moved away even from all the overly dramatic sci-fi goth stuff he was doing before as well. now if i can get just past his unholy alliance with kardashian and kanye it won't corrupt my feelings entirely...

needless to say, while there may perhaps be some pertinent comparisons to be made-gaultier,maybe even earlier margiela to a degree-certainly if you know riccardo's talent before givenchy even before when he was a virtual unknown, these traits have always existed. we just haven't seen enough of it at givenchy for all the commerce and the accessory hype....maybe now the real essence will become a central focal point again.

Am I a complete idiot for assuming that he took some inspiration from Star Wars? I feel like a total nerd, but that's the first thing I noticed when viewing this collection:

Don't care too much for a couple of the middle looks, but the rest of this is WOWWWWW GORGEOUS. I concur with everyone else when I say finally!

Oh so good. Sparkly, dramatic, creative and essentially a mashup of things we've seen, yet not boring. I love it. The Kimye factor does not detract.

Actutally all the refeneces TFSers mentioned before are unsurprisingly originated from his own archive in Givenchy, e.g. the sequined corset-like piece is surely presented in one of his HC, however, he's so distinctive this season, and I'm thrilled to see that.
