I love this so much. Givenchy couture is always my favourite because they don't bother to use sequoins and flashy embroidery. Instead we see intricate fabric detailing which is so much softer and flowing. Not to mention his constant use of black, white, and red. Beautifully done.
this is quite challenging. the use of monochrome, but still delivering such interest with the use of textures and layers. overall, a beautiful and serene collection.
I adore this collection, understated though it be. I love the dress in post 11 (there's a full lenth picture in gettyimages.com and on this thread post 94), but would want it shaped to fit under the bust and then to flow downwards rather than bringing it in under the bust with that white belt. The collar is so amazing that the dress doesn't need any other features.
When I saw it I thought how much is it Givenchy and how much is it Tisci ... and I think it has enough Givenchy imho ...
Something I noticed as well, is that it seems to revisit themes from recent Guvenchy designers and seasons ... the pants are SO McQueen for Givenchy it only needs Stella Tennant wearing them ... and the look is the -trashy- trademark of McDonald for Givenchy ...
About couture clients ... i think that its a bit diff now ...
Older love jackets and dresses ...but young ones wont mind spned 5K on THE pair of pants ... I really really like the fitted suit with the huge -toilet papery looking- bow on the neck ... Yes, I do believe this will sell ... and I think its a very smart direction for the house who still struggles with identity
