All right, I have been considering this for months and months and finally think that as soon as I can afford them I am going to invest in some reusable all cotton menstrual pads.
I just want to know if anyone here has used them before? If so have you liked them? I'm particularly interested in either of the two brands mentioned in the title. GladRags seems a bit more affordable, offer a special cleaner for their products, and are available in some stores as well, there is a store about 20 miles away from me that carries them. But then Lunapads offers some products that GladRags doesn't, like panty liners and undies. I'm just wondering if there are any big differences between the items they both offer, like basic small pads and sea sponges?

{Okay, now before anyone goes "OMG, that's so gross!" this is in no way aimed at people who have never used reusable cotton pads or have never used any pads at all. I'm hoping to get a little guidance from women who have used or currently use them.}
I know that bringing up menstrual cycles makes even other women squeamish, but I have gotten to the point where for me, I just don't care. Sure I'm not going to make an announcement over the radios at work about it, but I'm also not going to be embarrassed about it. With the exception of women with certain genetic/medical conditions every female will at some point have a period. This is normal; it is only society and the media that makes it seem as if it is not.
So...anyway...as I am an avid reader of b*tch Magazine*, a feminist magazine more appealing to younger feminists, I have learned to try and embrace the normalcy of having a cycle and also have learned some about reusable menstrual products. I know there are many benefits to using the reusable products, especially for women with certain conditions and those that are extremely sensitive to chemicals...like me. Of the few women I know that have used reusable products I was told that they are much more comfortable then the throw away kind.
Anything to make that week more comfortable would be awesome, because it can be hard for me to feel good about my appearance and what I'm wearing when things are so uncomfortable in other ways. I hope someone responds to this and if it really makes you uncomfortable to discuss in this thread, then you could always send a private message my way.
Thanks.
*I'm not sure if the title of that magazine needs to be edited or not since it is not being used in a profane way and is not directed at anyone in order to hurt their feelings.
