I got back yesterday from the leading international fair for fashion graduates, Graduate Fashion Week in London, and thought it would be pretty good to have a thread to display the new talent emerging from the U.K. and other international universities.

The winner (judged by the likes of Matthew Williamson and Daphne Guinness) of both the best womenswear and the £20,000 Gold Award for best collection was Chloe Jones of Bath Spa University, who designed a mainly grey collection in jerseys, chiffons and organzas, hand-embellished with metallic leather leaves and glass beads.

Going For Gold

WHAT an evening it was last night for Chloe Jones at Graduate Fashion Week - the Bath Spa University fashion graduate not only walked away with this year's womenswear accolade but also won the highly prestigious Gold award, pocketing herself £20,000 in the process. Not a bad start for a brand new kid on the block.

This looks pretty interesting. I like that it doesn't seem like she's trying too hard to be different and quirky, this is a pretty wearable graduation collection while still being innovative and exciting, IMO. The first look is awesome, I love how that jacket looks with the flowy skirt and high heels.

Thanks for creating this thread, it is a good thing to see what the next generation has to offer. I like these creations but I am not floored by them. I do think that the designer did a good job playing with volume and proportion. Good luck to her and the others.

It looks really good! Moreover if you relate them to middle east women, with the hoods covering their heads, the contrast between modern and romantic makes it interesting and makes sense.

Here are some other pieces from young designers from the winner's Bath Spa University.
