Barry Lyndon and Space Odyssey? I’m guessing the other images are Eyes Wide Shut and The Shining inspired…maybe Clockwork Orange if they were feeling particularly edgy.

Lolita or Full Metal Jacket would be more to my liking and more surprising though.

A Gucci campaign rarely fails these days, and I can appreciate that. I'm even slowly buying into the Gucci x Adidas sneaker hype, those pink suede Gazelles are stunning. :ninja:

Don’t really like Gucci recently, but not going to lie … I love this ! The first shot is fantastic and I love the second one because I love anything to do with space.

Incredible concept and campaign but I wish they would have saved this for a more interesting collection. The clothes and the pieces they chose are a let down.

Absolutely love this. This is so good that I can really overlook how terrible the collection was.

Yes I think that is one definition of a good campaign; making the products way more desirable that they actually are.
I wish it was not so literal but it gives a strong cinematographic and oniric edge.

"Paying homage" lmao, no.

They're stealing the work of a far superior visual artist and copy/pasting it to sell fashion? Kubrick would have never alliowed this.

I want to love it but the set/extras completely overshadow the Gucci models/clothes. It makes me want to re-watch all of the Stanley Kubrick films again as opposed to buy the accessories. I wish the clothes/models were integrated better but I guess the intended goal was to make them look pasted in? Seems like a waste of resources when they could have achieved the same look just by photoshopping models into the original stills.

The Dolce F/W 2003 campaign by Meisel, also inspired by Kubrick, comes to mind where all of the factors felt balanced (The Kubrick influence didn't overshadow the Dolce aspect, and vice versa).

10/10, amazing production though!!

Quite possibly the most fun campaign this season, though I feel the literal recreations of the movies distract from the clothes.

it’s a great concept and some shots are great but it’s extremely literal. but hey, this is M&M and Gucci. of course, it’s a copy with something a little different on it.
