Haider Ackermann Mens F/W 2015.16 Paris

Tried to be more commercial but only half way there, he needs to find a vivid story for his menswear. It's becoming more and more like John Keats going to supermarket look, not feeling anything luxurious.

love the way he worked with velvet....it doesn't feel so stuffy, cliched or costumey....more like serge gainsbourg or something. even animal print which i typically hate with a passion somehow doesn't feel wrong.

Is it just me or is this kinda like a really good version of Galliano's old menswear?

^^^ I don't think Galliano's menswear was ever this plush, this creamy-smooth and refined LOL

I'm usually not a fan of velvet in menswear, particularly drapey velvet in menswear, but he's cut velvet in such a flattering, and non-fussy way that it looks really great. And his very tightly edited collection is such a pleasure, unlike some designers that offer endless variations of the same few designs-- or those that try to throw everything into a collection in the hope that something works. Haider's menswear collections always feel so personal to me. I appreciate that in an industry where designers are churning out what feels like an assembly line worth of collections each year.

(I bet there are a few ladies here that are eyeing this collection for themselves...)
