Heatherette F/W 06.07 NYC

this is exactly what is wrong with New York fashion. Maybe wee should start calling it "New Yuk Fashion" Or "New Yuk Fashion Weak"
this company is now owned By the same company that owns once glorious urban brand FUBU (they bought it for five million dollars)
I know these dudes and i can tell you that they have no design talent whatsoever, this is a brand that was built on the talents and abilities of others than the people who are the face of the brand.
before it was bought by fubu they never sold anything, they had no business structure and was repped by thier PR company for free.
every season they would get a group of people (mostly interns and design hopefuls) and they would put together a badly made and badly embellished collection.
the people who worked for money never usually get paid. Now they have money, and they have a name but like the emporor without clothes they are "designers" without talent

Did you say fubu bought them!!! Yuck!!! This stuff is garbage and what ever happened to fubu......Do they not make clothes any more?

 :yuk:

OK, so I think I finally get Heatherette....The whole premise behind the entire label....you guys ready?....

They still want to be Club Kids! I really just now figured it out, I'm a bit slow. This collection and the party pics pretty much say it all. Scenster kids who are infatuated with the glamour and pretense of high life fashion provides without any of the craft or sensibilities of GOOD CLOTHES. It makes perfect sense. Hey guys, let's all throw on a Dior Homme t-shirts and some Heatherette dresses and go party at Miss Shapes while Benjamin Cho spins. Sounds good....right??? right???

of course i figured out the danceteria/limelight connection ever since my first heatherette show, but mutterlein...
karma, if i can give any

ahh, crap...

Everyone keep in mind, Pam Anderson wore a Heatherette shirt that was in all the tabloids since it was cut only about a centimeter from her boobs, and well lets just say one jump or trip and they would fly out. Such high standards for clothing. Its all about being flashy and outragous. Its fun to watch the shows, but its more of a spectacle than a fashion show.

It's true, FUBU did buy an interest in Heatherette. Part of the contract Richie Rich and Trevor signed with FUBU was for them to oversee the design of a separate line that is going to be called FAGU.

For the past couple of weeks i have been seeing Richie Rich partying it up here in LA. I'm standing there wondering, shouldn't this guy be in nyc putting the final touches in his show. I always thought designers worked like mad in the few weeks prior to a show.

Saw the show at the tent...:yuk: :yuk: to say the least.
Does anyone have photo of the last look - the white dress?

Rude and innappropriate...and pretty hilarious. Karma for you!

Hmmm...I would wear a few of these things, like at parties, raves, ****** conventions. You know, things I regularly attend and all. ;)

I'm utterly sick of seeing Lepore's t*ts all over.

And um, I didn't find this impressing at all.

That's an easy answer. Richie Rich is not a designer.

The Girls' Club
By Lauren DeCarlo
NEW YORK — Richie Rich and Traver Rains, founders and designers of Heatherette, are channeling their inner 13-year-old girl. "[It's] not a younger line in age, but rather in price point."
Richie Rich, Heatherette
The grown-up club kids will launch a juniors collection this fall at 75 Federated stores across the U.S., in addition to 25 specialty stores such as Nordstrom, Kitson in Los Angeles and Leo in South Beach, Fla., before extending to doors in Canada and Australia. To cap it off, a 707-square-foot Heatherette shop — complete with swinging chandeliers and a piano key floor — will open at Macy's Herald Square here in August.
