radar interviews Dr. drew with what he thinks
Celebrity Rehab star and host Dr. Drew Pinsky sat down with RadarOnline.com for an exclusive interview regarding the controversy surrounding 23-year-old reality TV star Heidi Montag following her ten plastic surgery procedures that she underwent in one day last November.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported Montag underwent a mini brow lift, botox in her brow and frown line area, a nose job revision, fat injections in cheeks, injections into her nasolabial folds and her lips, chin reduction, neck liposuction, had her ears pinned back, a breast augmentation revision, liposuction on her waist, hips and inner and outer thighs, and a buttock augmentation.
The surgery was all performed in one day by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan, who has been under fire since news of the procedures became public knowledge, following a front cover and article in People magazine where Heidi showed off her new look and documented her surgery ordeals.

Dr Drew, an expert in drug addiction as well as “health and human relations” voiced his concerns to RadarOnline.com about the state of Heidi’s self esteem and emotional regulation abilities as well as making a dire prediction for the future of her relationship with her husband, Spencer Pratt.
“My thoughts are [the surgeries are] outlandish,” Drew tells RadarOnline.com. “I can’t believe a physician would put somebody through that. I don’t understand. Heidi clearly has body image issues, she clearly has significant emotional – let’s call them issues – issues about self worth, issues about emotional regulation.”
Drawing on his wealth of experience in the field, Dr. Drew goes on to say he worries about other possible underlying motivators behind getting so many procedures carried out in one day. “I’m worried that some of the motivation to get this – these – surgeries was maybe to get the medicines and things that follow, people do that all the time.
“But what I call this is female cross dressing. In other words a woman that over accentuates her femaleness – who becomes a Barbie doll – that always really concerns me. That suggests some significant trauma. And rather than treating that, making her go through all this...I’m glad she’s satisfied with it – God bless her – I’m glad she’s happy but this is not going to be the end of it.
But Dr. Drew's comments were misunderstood by many people, who thought he was calling Heidi a cross dresser!
He clarified his statements via twitter:
"I did NOT say nor intend that people should think that Heidi Montag is a cross dresser; that is simply absurd to take away from my comments. What I said is that women that excessively accentuate their feminine features are fetishizing their bodies & can be thought of as a woman cross dressing as a woman, a female - female cross dresser. So settle down out there. And my apologies to Heidi."
Upon hearing the news that Heidi has said she wants to go even bigger with her already DDD bust size, talking about aiming for a mind boggling size H, Drew quips, “Yes, she wants an H so it’s consistent with her initials!” Going on to say, “But that’s that female cross dressing thing. You know, it’s never enough.”
Dr. Drew also believes that it’s not just Heidi’s physical and emotional well being that she’s putting in danger with her seemingly never endless quest for physical “perfection”, he thinks she is also dabbling with danger when it comes to her marriage.
“I think the first you are going to see is the destabilization of the relationship between her and Spencer – that’s the first thing you’re going to see – that relationship is going to unwind.
“I don’t know how so, how it plays out, it’s always different, but usually when this kind of thing goes on the primary relationship unwinds. And then we will see what comes next.”
Dr. Drew scoffs at Heidi’s claims that she “nearly died” from too much Demerol at the aftercare facility following her procedures, telling RadarOnline.com that the problems she allegedly suffered are very common following operations of this kind.
“Almost died from too much Demerol is – I mean, you have to interpret what she’s saying. Almost died from too much Demerol, well everybody that takes a lot of Demerol has respiration suppression, that’s why there are nurses there, that’s why she’s in an aftercare facility, because people’s respiratory systems become critically low. You pull the medicines off, you give them a reversing agent. I’m sure that’s what they did that with her. This is a routine complication for somebody in the post surgical setting.”
What Drew doesn’t think is routine though is the amount of surgeries Montag underwent in one setting, especially at the young age of 23.
“10 procedures at once – too much in my opinion. For a young beautiful woman who has body image issues...ermm...I’m just saying!”
