^ is till really love the chloe ones from a few seasons ago...it's be ncie to see them pop-up on ebay...

I personally prefer low rise jeans, I feel more comfortable wearing them. When it comes to jeans, the high waist ones make me feel like they are cutting on my waist. Besides, the low rise ones fit me much better, specially boot cut or straight leg.

Although, I have to say I don't mind wearing high waist pants, I have a pair of black slacks that are high waist and wide leg, they are great for the office and really are flattering with some high heels.;)

with high waists

THEY MUST BE cut wide and must be well designed at the top , then they work really well , these jeans were all the rage in the 70s , and I have to agree they look better as pants but I think if you wanna look different from the crowd this is the look to adopt ,since everyone wears boot legs and skinny jeans. This look will explode sooner or later , and I am usually right , I predicted it for skinny jeans 3 years ago , and now that trend is on the wane ,this look will be adopted to a degree, because soo many designers are pushing for this look.

Regarding Mom Jeans: I have been around long enough!
It was basically the look here, by default, that covers your stomach after having several kids and gives you a long bum.
LOL

my 2 cents

while i do believe tapered jeans are simply unattractive on most of us, i like the high waisted ones a lot. it's refreshing to see pants that actually hold it all in... much classier than low rise.

actually

taper and high waisted = mom jeans
straight and wide and high waisted = gorgeous skyscrapers
just thought should distinguish , one is frumpy and the other is glamourous

I think this trend may actually have a great shelf life to them. I am not fond of high waists at all. I do like the more sophisticated look from the jeans in Post #6 { http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/1465043-post6.html }. They remind me a bit of those denim dress pants, only much more casual. I don't know about some of you ladies on here, but I consider flares to be sexy. I can understand the argument about low-rise jeans. I think they look best on those who can pull off the look (talking about low-rise jeans here). From the link I posted, can you imagine pairing these jeans some tall boots, some styligh loafers, mary-jane shoes (my favorite women's shoes), or some cute sandals? Would be a pretty nice look if you ask me.

By the way... some sneakers would also compliment the look. A look I've grown to like was more of dress pants coupled with popular Skechers shoes like the Grand Jamz or the Minuet sneakers. Those would probably work for these jeans if you wanted to go casual but still look good below. Now all you need is a nice look up top to compliment your looks below the waist. These jeans may actually catch on. My only turn off is the high waist.

once skinny mania

abates , this is the trend to come next , i just know its my gut feeling haha. those chloe jeans will make a comeback !!!

i bought grey ant braided jeans from intermixonline they are high waisted , I love that 70s show , but these are updated and are so ***** cool for real, i wear it with a tight shirt and heels looks so cool, got 4 compliments today!!!

There is no doubt in my mind that high waisted jeans will make a comeback. I once raided my mother's attic for a pair, and I LOVED them. SOoooooo flattering, if they are cut right (makes your legs look a million miles long) Low cut jeans are tacky, but these are classy and flattering. I'd look for a pair from my mom's attic to post a pic of them (to show you how gorgeous they can be) but I wont because I'm too lazy and I might have thrown them out 10 years ago to avoid having to put them back in the attic.

i don't mean to sound like a snot rag, but i can't take that comment seriously about the sketchers!!! LOLOLOL. SKETCHERS???? you must be kidding.

I think these will be a great alternative for those of us who are sick of the low-rise jeans and the "muffin top" look. There are also significant differences between the so-called "mom jeans" and the type that VeronicaUSA is talking about, besides the leg (tapered vs. straight or wide). Part of the problem with "mom jeans" is the "relaxed seat," which isn't in evidence with the skyscrapers or the styles on which they're based.

I also see these as potentially lengthening the leg too, even with a low heel if not a platform, high heel or wedge. I think the low-rise jeans actually make short legs look even stumpier, especially if accompanied by the muffin-top, which just cuts you in two at a lower level!

i bought another pair

I watched that 70s show a lot , both donna and mila kunis wear those high waisted jeans with tucked shirts --------. so sexy . I bought a pair of grey ant jeans and wore it with a fitte shirt and my hair open and a little messy like kate moss , I got so many compliments ----i love these jeans. I think guys are fed up of seeing too much skin, that they appreciate a girl who can be a little grungy , tom boyish and sexy at the same time. The thing i like about these jeans it makes my *** look wonderful , and its so fluid , im so inlove with these jeans     bye bye skinny jeans (well at least till winter i need to tuck them in my boots) but for summer spring and fall its high waisted boyfriend jeans.

does anyone know any other high waisted wide leg jean brands?????????????? either than grey ant and karen walker?

higher waists are getting more attractive. there was a time when super-low waisted pants didn't exist--and I think we all got along well. i don't think the trend is going to dissapear for awhile, but when it does, you'll get used it. i remember when cropped pants came back, and i absolutely hated them, but i gave in, and they've been good to me.

I don't really like these jeans, I feel like they've been trying to make a comeback for a couple years now...and I still don't like them. They are just too prissy and 70s' for me.

Besides that, I have to say the below was pretty ignorant and rude. Go take a gander at the streetstyle threads, people are and have been wearing skinnies all over the world, not just in Australia. Anyways, if you're worried about looking like a sausage casing, I wouldn't recommend jeans that are flat fronted and tapered in the lower abdominal area. I envision many women whooshing around town in these skyscraper jeans with exaggerated denim clad pot bellies. Yuck. :innocent:

but hun , outside of the austrailian world of tsubis and sass and bide , tastes are different thankfully and not everyone wants look like a sausage casing and a lindsay lohan wannabe. :p

i think those wideleg, high wasted pants are sceaming camel toe!!! lol

I've heard the word skyscraper to define a style of jeans, as in drainpipe for skinny.
