High Waisted Jeans #1

i tried a pair of high waisted jeans from topshop. only one pair left and it's a bit loose on me so i didn't get it. the bf said i look funny with it on too. maybe it's just not for me.

boyfriends don't know anything. my boyfriend thinks I look ridiculous in high waisted jeans, but do I listen to him? NO!! I even bought cheap monday eifeltowers. no man will come between me and fashion..

well i listent to my man, because he has good fashion sense. sometimes listening to people does help, because they don't want you going out and looking like a fool.

the high waited jeans are so much more flattering than the low waist ones, they show off the curve of your body
topshop has some high waist denim shorts they look amazing on the ad, I have to try them!

^^^ How sad. I'm envious of all you English girls who can shop @ topshop. I live in the little old (not really little, but boring) midwest and the most comparable thing we have is Forever21. Our H&M didn't even get the V&R line. I know this is off topic but Ugh! Hearing about these things and seeing them on topshop's site makes me sad. THey even have good prices and I still can't buy them or try them. Tell me how you like those shorts/jeans!

The only place I have seen these execute well is in editorial , I thought even Kate Moss looked terrible in those Ghost jeans.

However I forgot to mention I do find them refreshing and interesting especially the corset button style ones.

i figured it out. you have to have thin arms to wear this. i couldn't figure it out before. but if you have any plumpness on the upper arm, combined with the high waist sucking it all in, it just looks totally congested.

how does having or not having thin arms come into account?? I can imagine a girl who is slender with bigger arms wearing it. Anyway the topshop ones are cute but i think they would be more versatile if the legs on them weren't so skinny. It kind would kidn of just look like a kid being stuffed into a romper. But the high waisted shorts are cute and i think are a great way for short curvy girls to wear this look if they have the pins for it (which a lot do). I think that this could work quite well for curvy/hour glass shapes since the top will hit and emphasize the thinnest part of the waist.

yes but arms are only a part of the waist up. chest size is just as important. I don't really think of arms being the focus point for this look. If the bottoms were quite skinny i could see this making the outfit too 'top heavy' but for me i dont' find this proportion so important.

I guess what I mean is that your stomach gets so corseted in, that it looks, at first glance that all the fat has popped up to your boobs...and yes, chest area..
I have small boobs and not the thinnest arms, so I'm worried. I feel that way about baby doll tops too., I love the look, but my arms look chunky in them.
