Didnt something like this happen to Natalia V? I rememeber she came back to Russia after being gone and outside the aiport were a bunch of her old friends waiting for her so they could cut her face, but her boyfriend saved her or something...

no way, im being serious, i remember googling for an interview with her a long time ago and finding that version of the story. i guess it was sensationalised since the fashion file one would be more accurate.

its in her vogue article 2 years ago.
she went back to russia & went to a club and a few people that she knew were going to beat her up & 1 even threatened to cut her.
it is an example of your smalltown community resenting someone who moves away & gets rich & famous.
it makes the old crew feel worthless & self-hatred.
thats why people cant wait to move away from theior cloistered small towns.
theres a famous thomas wolfe story 'you cant go home again.'
cos after you change & get rich & grow, the smalltown people did not change or advance and there is a discrepancy between them, the old you & the new you.
the only answer is to start a new life & thats why nati lives in nyc & outside london.
I do not know what her mom is doing but Im sure nati bought her a house in a better part of town.

Yes, AlmostFamous, you seem like a really cool person .

One thing about this whole high-school stuck-up thing and people becoming mean to beautiful girls, etc.. Especially in high school, its a good idea to bring along a giant pile of humility with your beauty. Self-deprecating humor and so on, regardless of how you look, is always a good course.

Passing out photos of yourself, saying to others "I'm going to be a model" and so on isn't a good way to endear yourself to others at any time, but especially in school.

But as to telling your best friends (only) about your plans and having them turn against you is another thing entirely--that's just wrong .

i'm not a model, but when people just figured out i was doing ballet after school or that i was doing art or had some show business connections they freaked out and started abusing me severly. it's really scary. someone tried burning my face etc. and some people threatened to beat me up. it's insane. btw, i'm not even model material or close to beautiful. i just follow fashion in clothes...it's really weird. people can be scary like that. i wish i were beautiful.
