Her becoming a top model is a lot of luck (being the first of the doll-faced models, right place, right time, etc) and marrying an aristocrat, well anyone can do that I think. I've always wondered how much of Natalia's success came from her having a fairy-tale story.

Not to say that models don't deserve kudos. Some are incredibly hardworking, some are great philanthropists, some have an incredible mind for business, or whatever - I just don't think having a fairytale as a backstory is something to admire.

AMANDA MOORE, hands down. She didn't want to be a model.... heck, never even thought of it. But became the most successful supermodel that ever graced the runway, print, ed. And one of the very few if not the only one in the business that is pleasant to work with and well liked , overwhelmingly by all photographers and fashion editors, designers. A rarity in the industry. And seldom is unheard of.
She's open and honest about herself which in this industry many are not for the fear of jeopardizing their source of income.
Comes from a military family and her brother is in Iraq and/or overseas defending our beloved country, U.S. of A. ! "down with terrorism!"
Good head on her shoulder personally and professionally.

There are doctors who are horrible people and models may do one thing as a career but be totally selfless and caring in life... for instance, I read someplace that Vlada is plannning on becoming a psychologist after her modelling career and that is helping people as well... Just a point...

I think that what stylexstar was saying was that admiration shouldnt just be reserved for people with extraordinary jobs but for the way one leads their daily life, like using what they are given, big or little, to help others and do great things.
Anyways, I think Carmen Kass, although she isnt my favourite model per se, is very admirable because of her whole story of how she first got into modelling, the way she had to stick up for herself and learn to be completely independant.
