How Do You Walk In High Heeled Shoes?

Do I walk weird, because my heel is already damaged from the first time I walked them?

the heel itself....do I have to go to a shoestore to put some rubber on the heel?

Need more info. Are you talking about a spike heel? Are the heel taps damaged or missing? If so the heel taps can be replaced, but there are quite a few different profiles out there now.

No matter how you walk, the heel taps should not be damaged after one wearing.

Can you post a pic?

Is it true that baby powder in the shoes would help the feet "gliding" ? I'm sure I read it somewhere..

Sometimes it works, hairspray works too.

When I wear high heels, I just think about how good they look and how I tower over other people, and it gives me more confidence and I walk better.:D

i dont
i always have a second pair of comfy shoes and only when i get off the car i change into my STILETTOS. :innocent:

I park and then walk 3 blocks to the courthouse, and I always wear flats or trainers for this part of my day. My heels are usually tucked into my purse, and I slip them on once I'm thru security.

I've also started to use gel inserts, and that helps a lot, too.

:flower:

i don't LOL, i stand a lot when i wore high heel. and till now i only managed with wedges or pump, never on the small heels esp stilleto

I can wear 5" platforms but struggle with 3" inch stilletto's.. stilletos are just too close to the ground.. it's torture to wear them for a day in the city.

I can't wear heels at all. My feet are to small. It isn't much fun beeing a size 5.

I'm fairly graceful in heels, but when I have to go downhill or down the stairs it's all over!
that's my problem too.
plus I live in a city with a lot of cobblestone, it looks nice but it gives me a hard time wearing my heels :yuk:

I was born with almost clubbed feet, and one of my feet is still somewhat crooked. (Though you can't tell my looking at it.) Because of this I can't wear heels without straps or I'll eventually fall off.

When I was younger I had little to no problem in heels. Now they make me tired by just looking at them. But I would like to get back into it.

Unless you've travelled down a gravel road in them.

I gather you mean a US 5 not a UK 5 or Eu 38?

The smaller your feet are the worse a high heel is. Imagine the scenario if you had 4 inch long feet trying to wear a four inch high heel - you'd be on your absolute tiptoes (total eggagaration I know but you get my point). So I totally agree it's harder for people with smaller feet to wear the same height as someone with larger feet.

I'm a UK 4 - my wide feet normally mean I can get size 5 courts, but not sandals or open toes - but I find 3 inch quite low now. Only really noticed this after I replaced my four inch ankle boots with three inch ones. They feel so low it's weird. I still remember nearly dying after the first time I wore those 4 inch boots and it took me ages to get used to them. Now, that height feels normal.

but in good quality shoes doesn't the height of the heel change with the size of the shoe? IE: it gets smaller as the shoe gets smaller and bigger as the shoe gets bigger?

Stiletto and Dego - thanks for that info, I honestly didn't know that .I'd wondered how they did six inch heels etc for really small feet sizes but obviously didn't ever actually compare sizes of shoe with their heel height.

How high are your heels?

^my highest one are between the 2nd and the third, but it's hard to walk in them because they are stilettos.
