How Do You Walk In High Heeled Shoes?

I don't get why it's so hard for people to walk in heels. You just do it. I always found practicing a bit of an exaggeration. All you need is a half hour to get used to them if you wear heels for the first time. Yeah, some are harder to walk in than others but generally heels shouldn't be a problem for any woman who can wear them. I've seen women walking weird in heels tough.:D Now, what I do find difficult is wearing heels on cobblestones right ladies? :p Especially if you're wearing platforms. You really need to balance yourself. ugh.

The thing I find the most difficult is when wearing skinny heels and trying to avoid those little gaps you get in between paving stone. If only because I've scraped the leather off of the backs of heels of so many pairs of shoes that way! :(

Yeah, it happens with my favourite boots. The heels are leather too. Can the shoe repairer fix these things?

I have had leather fixed.. It wasnt perfect but looked so much better! i see so many girls walking around with nails as the heels because they've worn their shoes so much.. For one its so slippery and dangerous! and it only costs me $13 (in australian $$ its a small amount) to get mine fixed and our shoes are like new

Used to think that the whole Cole Haan/Nike Air thing was absolute rubbish ... then got a pair of red peep-toes on my feet this summer, and I hate to admit it ... they were like pillows! I danced at a wedding for hours and hours and was more comfortable than in any other pair of heels I've ever worn. Sigh. I feel old.

^^ I used the work for Nike and it wasn't a myth. Nike owns Cole Haan so, it would make sense to put in Nike technology into some of their shoes.

I have to say, that I never thought that i would be walking in high heels today. I am much more comfortable in heels than in flats...and when i wear flats i walk funny like a duck ! High heels has changed my posture dramatically, my confidence and even the way i walk...i started off with a thick heel 10cm, then i gradually evolved to 5inch thin heels...and two weeks ago we had a fire drill in our office ( bare in mind we are on the 16th floor) and people were running down the stairs in trainners and i was running in my heels...i think its a status of mind...there isnt a "certain way" its just practise...and state of mind...believing that you can...:)

I wore a new pair out last night dancing with a high heel with the platform.. they were great to dance in but we were walking alot so when i took them off it was worse going from high to flat concrete.. I should have just kept them on but the were slipping off as i walked

Don't run during an evacuation, real or drill. That's how people trip and get trampled. I can remember two fairly recent nightcub fires where dozens died when the exits became blocked by people that fell.

I'm so tired that most fashionable/trendy etc heels have to have 10-12cm heels / 4 inch and more.. in recent years it seems like heels have been designed by the vertically challenge using the matra "More More, Higher Higher !!" Every season seems to bring even higher heels..

I might admire the towering heels but I know that I can't wear/walk them through an event so I might as well keep my max to 8cm / 3 inches.

I remember when 3" was HIGH!! It was hard to find anything higher, and if you wore them people looked at you funny. ;)

Yes, pity that the trendiest high heels are sooo high :shock:

I have a tip from Zuzanna Buchwald, it's very helpful for me: when you set your feet to the ground, just do it with full sole, don't move your specific gravity to your heel because you'll fall.

I don't really like walking in high heeled shoes~~~~~~~it's painful although these shoes may look good...

yeah:p yeah, It's either high heels for me (4 inch or higher) or just flats. I rather not do in between. And kitten heels are the worst.
that should be law.

also: always buy your exact size, never bigger.

I'm sure the one I wear is higher than 3 inches my sister had it for a few years and never wore it. It just sat in her closet. She's actually shocked that I can walk in them because I never wore heels before. lol I'm like 6'1 when wearing them.
