How Has tFS Changed Your Style?

like many others here...tfs encourages me to be who i want to be...to be an individual...and to feel confident about my style...

it's also made me feel like it's ok to be a little schizo with my style...and not to feel pressure to define it...but to continue to explore and experiment and have fun with fashion...

:flower:
thanks everyone...

Has tFS influenced your style?

I'm just curious, because I've seen some members allude to the fact that they have changed their style, or learnt to appreciate other styles than their own while being here, digging through the goldmine of fashion knowledge that is tFS.

I had no style before, absolute zero. The change entirely depends upon if you think that's different now!

(I have to admit I have read quite a few books which have influenced I as well...)

I've been thinking, and to add to that I'll do my brand swing-o-meter:

Dolce & Gabbana, Brioni, Armani

to

Comme des Garcons, Raf Simons, Ann D

And I no longer like Dior Homme but mainly because I think Hedi is a stuck record...

Well, thanks to tFS in general, and I think it was Vintage Princess in particular, I finally broke down and bought a real pair of girly shoes.

They give me a positively obscene walk.

Thanks, guys!

Wonderful thread!

I have to say tFS has opened my mind to a lot of new fashion. Things I never would have considered before, I actually find myself liking. It has given me the confidence to try new things - which I needed. So...thanks tFSers

Of course it did. One way or another it influenced a hell lot my perception about my own style. :flower:

I'll take a cue from Prince...

Before: Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Versace

After: Ann Demeulemeester, Carol Christian Poell, Dior Homme

And, like Prince, I had no style at all when I first came to TFS, and I think I at least kinda do now.

thanks tott for this thread. it's good to step back and take a look at this thing! of course, everyone has been influenced in some way shape or form. i think i had a crazy mish mash of intuitive dressing..it was the arty poor approach: going to a thrift store or mainstream mall shop and slicing and dicing. but now i've come to understand real craft in clothing..fit and materials..basically refinement, also i'm more appreciative of functional clothing!! i always strived for avant garde proportions in clothing..even if it was borderline painful! i was very idealistic..but now i am aware of designers such as dries van noten and ann d. etc..all which have the oppisete approach, and sometimes..in the case of ann d. more so..similar motivations. I can now appreciate clothing that is more relaxed and androgynous.

Definitely! I have become a lot more experimental and more open to different forms of dressing.

I have not been here for long but i already picked up a few thing here and there.. I ove learning about fashion new designers seing pictures of what they do, love it- and then go out to buy it!

I think ive becomed more open minded about fashion.

So thank you, TFS :flower:

My style has stayed the same but I've learned a lot about models and have increased my spending on make-up by like 150%

I can feel tfs slowly changing my style, more recently these past 2 months....

even if it hasnt changed my style, it definetly made me more aware of it and my surrounding styles...

Haven't been here long, but it's helping me sort out my style, like I am more certain than I was before that I prefer neutrals for me, and don't like brights, and totally don't like pastels.

Yes, it has influenced me a bit, it helps me to think I'm not strange for liking certain clothes and to wear more often things that people around me could find weird and strange.

yes and agreed about 150% increase in spending of makeup.
and also purses, when i joined i probably owned 3 purses, now im at roughly 10+, they may not be designer brands, but they are pretty stylish. (at least i think so)

thanks tfs!

It has influenced my thinking so far as much as anything, mostly because I haven't got much money at the moment considering I'm not working, so I haven't had the money to buy much lately. I think the next time I go clothes shopping majorly I'll probably see quite a change in my habits. This site has definitely opened my eyes to so many different designers and aesthetics. :flower:

thanks for this thread tott...there might already be a similar one somewhere, but I cant think of what to search under.
