Hussein Chalayan A/w 2004

I agree with Lena,I just don't see the magic in this whatsoever. Where's that intensity that's always so evident and compelling in his work?

well, at the risk of repeating myself...if he didn't start to make more wearable clothing...he was on the road to oblivion...i hope this collection does well, for his sake... once we get past this rough spot, i'm sure we'll se more of the magic... :flower:

its a bit Gap by Hussien Chalyan, still nice.
  good one space ;)

btw   is that just a policeman or an Adolf Hitler on his prints??
check it out here and please let me know what you see, it sure a bit weird choice for a print

I didn't really like this show as much as I have liked his shows in the past....I guess it's hard for me to look at his fall/winter 2004 collection as it is much more wearable...I liked him because his designs were intresting and different not becuase he made wearable everyday clothes.

strange choise of inspiration from Chalayan...
his ss04 collection had ancient fighters (in fight)
now its the police.. does anyone get Chalayan's message

he's making me wonder what he's communicating though those
strangely cryptic political prints
has anyone seen his ss04 collection 'in flesh'?
there are fighters printed in candy colour scenes
and peacefull card postal kind of environment

Who knows?

The world is tranquil on the surface, but there's an awful lot of violence, and potential violence, too. Just think about today's Madrid bombings and all other terrorist attacks around the world. The police forces are also getting accused of using excessive violence in all sorts of situations in different countries.

It's like we're trying to cling to our vision of safety and he may be challenging that?

Who knows?
