Hussein Chalayan F/W 13.14 Paris

what happened to the man who was transforming fashion shows into experimental events challenging the codes

I feel he has been stuck on the same clothes for 3 years.

He lost me with the prints in the middle. Love the black, white, and denim looks. Especially the look on Lais with the denim jeans, white collared shirt styled with the moto jacket.

it's a beautiful collection and even amid his avant-garde leanings in the past he always made beautifully accessible clothes.....but it also exemplifies how much i think the lack of dynamism these days for concepts and showmanship brings down the quality of his vision a bit. it just used to have a bit more direction, cohesion and emotion when we would do the balloons attached the clothes or alien-esque face coverings or coffee-table skirts or highly complex layerings of traditional folk costume. i miss that kind of intensity from him.

You have to get into the surprises in the video!

The first transforming dress on Steffi was already great when I saw it in pictures. Now I think it might be my favorite dress in the history of ever.

And this just suddenly became the coolest collection of the week! :woot: So completly awesome in motion, thanks for posting the video!

There are many looks that do absolutely nothing for me, I hate the wide-legged pants especially, but I like quite a few of the more wearable, basic pieces here. And of course the transformable looks are stunning!

Amazing, stunning show. I am totally smitten with those oversized, deep cuffed denim trousers.

Jawdroppingly good, thanx for posting the video. Its very rare we see transforming clothes with both the before and after looks being so refined...

 Mind = BLOWN. Not just with the transformation gowns, but with the movement and reflections of all of those beautiful fabrics. Wow, wow, wow. So good.:wub:
