Hussein Chalayan F/W 13.14 Paris

Insanely GLORIOUS....the clothes need to be seen in video motion to do them justice. He manages not only technical and aesthetic feats, his trousers are so imaginatively varied and impeccable in construction, from wide structured to elegantly bias-cut, they put a lot of big names to shame. I can't understand why Prada with its repetitious parade of the same retro outfits in different colours and materials receive so much more attention than Chalayan who pours so much into every outfit, not just the transformation dresses (though they are undoubtedly genius...), that his experiments push fashion boundaries while remaining eminently wearable, without the insanity or outrage of the "drama" designers. Such an under-rated designer....

Hussein is indeed one of the most underrated fashion designers today.

Those transforming dresses changed my opinion of this show completely. Simply amazing! The last time I was this floored was his Spring 2007 show (still gives me goosebumps).

Yaaaayyyyy, this has redeemed PFW for me, I just love it. Chalayan is always good for wearable, beautiful pieces that you can see transferring directly to the stores but equally for innovation and a sensitive and interesting treatment of fabrics and construction. I love the close ups of that dress, thank you for posting them.

I absolutely love this collection. This colours, shape of clothes and this jeans with big down :-) want them :-)

Best show of the season. Perfect marriage of experimentation and commercial appeal. And this collection proves that viewing fashion through images alone is woefully inadequate. The beauty of these clothes is in how they move and catch the light.
