For the past two years it seems I live in airports from all the traveling I've been doing, I thought I share my essentials as well, apart from passport, ids, tickets and blackberry I take:

Kindle or my ipad with kindle app ( I am a lover of books, but a kindle or anything with a kindle app for traveling it's definitely the best, less weight , more space!)
noise canceling headphones + ipod
sunglasses (though I've lost more Chanel sunglasses at the airport than I care to admit)
toothpaste+brush
candy+gum+snacks (unless it's a really long flight, never eat airplane food!)
a little bag w/ clear mascara, curler, cream blush, concealer, small perfume and emergen-c
nuxe reve de miel lip balm (best lip balm in the world!)
Sponge Ladi avokanto moisturizer (it's perfect for airplanes)
Avene eau thermale or one of Jurlique's mists
Frais hand sanitizer (try it, worth the extra bucks! it's the best one out there, natural and doesn't dry out your hands!)
L'annine hand cream
Rescue remedy drops and Pastilles
Pashmina

For really long flights I add: Rescue remedy sleep, baby wipes, ohropax ear plugs and socks.

^whoa, looking at it, it seems like a lot, I guess I am a firm believer in overpacking since I couldn't do without any of the stuff, anyways here are some tips I picked up along the way in case it might help any of you::flower:

-Never ever EVER use the airplanes pillows and blankets! After loosing many expensive pashminas at the airport I learned just to go into those stores that sell them for like 25 bucks and just buy one everytime I travel, that way I don't feel bad if I loose them, they come in a million colors, they're big enough to be used as blankets, pillows, etc. though I do travel with an inflatable pillow for long flights but for the price they're not bad at all and you can keep your good pashmina in your suitcase.

-If you're a nervous flier, like I've been lately, I recommend Rescue remedy if you don't want to take any pills, they're flower essences by Bach and they work like a charm for me, for longer flights I also take rescue remedy sleep. you can find them online or natural stores. Emma watson apparently loves them as well.

-Travel in style but don't sacrifice comfort, I've traveled first class, private, coach, and I've sat next to former presidents, models and actors and in really long flights (11 hours plus) I've see them change into something comfortable or at the very least socks, before going to sleep, then have the flight attendant wake them up an hour before landing so they can change and freshen up before arrival, if they can do it so can you! no matter where you're seated.

-If you're freshening up at an airport, like say washing your face, buy a big bottle of Evian water (or any brand you know and trust) and wash with that instead of airport water, all that change of ph in water in different countries or cities can irritate your skin.

-If your skin gets really dry after a flight, use a moisturizing mask. I use Nuxe Masque frais hydratant and it works like a dream.

-If your legs get a bit swollen after a long flight, cooling gels work really good!

-Check each airport's regulations, they all seem different to me and they're all design to give you a headache it seems, I have had things thrown out by some:angry: that others don't seem to care about, like makeup bags and products because they weren't in a zip lock bag, even though it was a clear bag. ugghhhh! I think it's worst entering the U.S than leaving it. has anyone run into this problem or is it just me?

sorry for the long post (and the ranting) but I hope it helps some of you! :flower:

short haul flights I take the following:
passport
ids
blackberry
book/magazines

I tend to fly really early and just sleep so dont think much is necessary.lol

I only take short flights, less than 4 hours, so it's not necessary to bring anything IMO.

^ditto thats another reason why my list was so short. I am quite surprised though, I recently flew from London to Geneva which is an hour and half flight...1 hour 40 mins or so. Anyways this lady next to me put all sorts of lotions on during that time haha, she started with something for her hands then her face and then she put some cream on her legs and her feet which were swelling up she brushed her hair etc...its like her whole beauty routine done on a plane!

I travel a lot for work but the flights are usually short so I don't need much more than what I already carry in my bag (iPod, makeup bag, hand moisturizer, allergy medicine, Tylenol, hand sanitizer, mint, gum, Kleenex etc). I do carry extra mint and gum packs though, plus lots of extra Kleenex packs and a coat or a jacket (in case the AC inside the plane is set to Arctic temperatures, which is the case sometimes).

IT IS AWFUL PLACE TO ENTER!
seriously, they treat like everyone is terrorist or something.
i know that is their job but still, they can be so rude etc.
once i had to go extra security check and they
asked like million questions from me, like how much i earn from my job,
what is my job and questions that i found just wierd...
:ninja:
i love new york but i just don´t wanna travel u.s anymore.

^ That is strange, I didn't have any issues like that at all flying into the US. All they did was jokingly ask me if I was bringing any vegemite into the country  (I was) and they were perfectly friendly. Perhaps I was just lucky enough to have encountered friendly staff along the way.

^
I might have looked very suspicious
because I had horrible flu, angina and otitis
:lol::lol:
I seriously would love to see
how I look in the picture they took
HAHAHAH
Also, I was arraving to new york 2nd time
in short amount of time and they do not like it.

I never wear face make-up when flying, my skin is very unforgiving when it comes to airplane air :( . Also I keep a small pot of moisturizer, face oil and lipbalm in my carry-on!

I just went to London from Newark (7-8 hours) and all I needed was my iPod and a couple snacks / water!

On a long flight... I only need 2 things... sleeping pills and an inflatable pillow.

One more thing that I thought of, though not beauty related it is body related and that is an empty water bottle. You can't take a full bottle of water on international flights (at least not to the US) so I take an empty bottle and get the attendant to fill it up for me. That way I don't have to rely on tiny paper cups of water on a 12+ hour flight.

they asked you how much you earned? that is so weird! I think like you said it depends of where you're coming in from (what country), I went to Colombia last year and when I entered immigration I was crying, (sad after saying goodbye) and they took me aside and asked me a million questions, almost put me through x-rays and everything! I think they though I was probably carrying dru#s and I was nervous or something until they saw my American passport and when we enter the US it was dogs all over the place sniffing the luggage, same from a trip I took to Mexico two months ago.
Even traveling inside the country is getting tedious, I did L.A, Philadelphia, and Houston all this past week and going through security it's awful, I understand that they need to search for things, and I'm all for that, is for our own security and I've got nothing to hide, but sometimes they just cross the line with some of their rules and specially their RUDENESS!
I travel to Turkey every three weeks, (going back there tomorrow) and the difference of behavior in security depending or my connecting flight is insane, if coming back through England or Germany it's not as bad as coming from somewhere else, I got lucky when I got back from there a couple of weeks ago, hopefully it will be good this time as well.

I bring a cardigan, a magazine, ipod, water, small brush, small hairspray, Purel, tissue pack, make up, hand lotion, rosebud salve, mints, and a piece of fruit.

For 5+ hour flights, sometimes bring my laptop and a few dvds.

I'm from US and I get issues with security too. :(

New York (both JFK and Newark) security is horrible! Definitely the worst I've experienced. I have to travel for work a lot and they'd give me such a hard time and even now that I have a visa they're still really rude and ask ridiculous questions

As for travel essentials. I always take sleeping pills and fashion magazines (for until I doze off!). And always, no matter how warm it is outside, something warm to wear on the plane because their blankets are too thin.
