Thank you! :winkiss:

I'll phone someone at the airport probably ... because I don't want those people working at the airport to take my fabulous creams.

nothing over 100ml. everything under 100ml is okay.

everything has to fit into a 1 liter ziploc baggie. everything has to go into the ziploc baggy when going through security. if you don't, you risk the stuff being thrown out. if you got so many bottles and tubes and etc that they don't all fit into the ziploc, the excess will be thrown out.

seriously, just back track a little bit here, it has definitely been discussed in the past 12 pages instead of just asking again.

Does your whole body bloat ... ?

Yes. This is called "jet bloat," and is caused by the increase in altitude. Here's an article from Fitness Magazine that shows ways to prevent this:

The doctor says...
"Take bathroom breaks whenever the fasten-seat-belt sign goes off to keep blood and other body fluids circulating," says Sandra Fryhofer, MD, a clinical associate professor of medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. "Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and salt -- all of which cause water retention -- and drink at least 8 ounces of water for every hour in flight. Once on the ground, drink a cup of hot green tea and take 500 milligrams of vitamin B complex; both are natural diuretics."

The trainer says...
"When you can't get up and stretch, shift position in your seat at least every half hour -- cross your legs, prop your feet on your carry-on, or lean forward and interlace your fingers in front of you," says Keli Roberts, creator of the Time-Saver DVD workout series. "When you land, walk for 15 minutes at a comfortable pace to get blood moving in your lower limbs."

The scientist says...
"The day before a flight involving a time difference of six hours or more, eat your meals and go to sleep three hours earlier than you normally would. This will lessen jet lag and its side effects, like bloating, by helping your body get into sync faster in the new time zone," says Hava Siegelmann, PhD, director of the biocomputation laboratory at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Trying to acclimate before you leave can help you get better adjusted -- and feel less bloated -- when you land.

Oh wow thanks! I never knew that.

main reasons why pictures should be taken BEFORE departure and in the first few hours of a flight rather than the last half and shorty after arrival.

I always wear loose clothes, no belts, and sandals. Get through the security checkpionts quicker.

Thought I would bump this thread. I'm flying on Christmas Day, and will definitely be using the tips given...I never tend to dress for comfort since I fly first class so I can stretch out my legs and walk around easily, (and at the security checkpoints my riding boots slip off easily) but I will be needing an eyemask and ear plugs, some chewing gum for the altitude when landing, and in my carry on will bring Cle De Peau La Creme and rosewater mist.

I'm taking a big chance with storing all my full size skincare products in checked luggage, and I'm going to double-bag everything. I really want to bring my fragrances, but the Editions Frederic Malle's are almost $300 a piece and I'd just DIE if they shattered.

wrap them in some cashmere or wool. shawl, scarf, w/e. i travelled with 5 100ml bottles in checked luggage, nothing happened.

also, trust me, dressing for comfort is good, even when not flying coach  although it also depends on how long you're on the plane.

Well I do have a cashmere scarf I could wrap around them, but I'll still place them in plastic first...I'm going to drink tons of water before and during the flight, or will that cause water retention and bloating? I certainly dont want to look fat coming off the plane.

I travel constantly and have had many experiences with checked luggage not making it to the destinations on time, so I try to pack as many essentials in the carry on accounting for the 100mL limit such as:
- Purell hand sanitizer
- Johnsons head-to-toe baby wash (used as cleanser/liquid soap/shampoo)
- BE mineral foundation with concealer brush for spot concealing
- Water spray to mist face several times during flight
- Cetaphil cream for dry lips/cheeks/eyes. (My dry skin gets even MORE dehydrated in flight)
- toothpaste/brush
Other essentials:
- pashmina scarf
- noise canceling headphones with ipod
- candy (campino, werthers, gummies) make me extra happy

I can relate to the jet bloat, it's very true that you have water retention after the flight, but it goes away quickly the next day.

Agh I'm torn as to whether or not to check my luggage with my full-size skincare products or not...There's been bad storms here and flights have been cancelled the last 3 days. People's luggage is getting lost, and I would be beside myself and pissed if that happened.

On the other hand, I dont know what the limit is to bringing stuff in a carry-on...apparently you cant have anything over 3 oz? Is that set in stone? I have some creams that are 1.7 oz and 2.5 oz, but I'd be so furious if I was going through security and they decided I couldnt bring it with me...I hate these rules, they need to loosen the strings. And you have to have everything in one plastic bag? What if on the off chance something explodes and everything's together? What a mess! I'm freaking out. It's going to be chaotic flying on Thursday.

Yeah, some airports are really strict with having all your creams/liquids in the sealed plastic bag for the carry on. As long as each jar is under 100mL (3oz) and you can fit them all into the plastic bag it's going to be fine. Bring extra plastic bags in case something explodes or the caps unscrew. You can try bringing your fragrances in the checked baggage but definitely wrap them up a lot so when it's being thrown onto the conveyor belt and onto the plane it won't break. And hide it beneath a lot of clothing because you don't want airport handlers to steal it. I once had a beautiful apricot long Mexx dress that I always brought on trips and it was stolen from my checked luggage. I was really disappointed! I will never find something like that dress again!

100ml per container and ALL your carry on liquids have to fit inside a 1 (one) liter see through zip lock bag. which means you can't take unlimited amounts of 100ml or less containers with you. even if the container is basically empty inside, as long as it says 100ml+ outside, it's not allowed.

yes, flying is a pain. damn terrorists.

Well two of the creams I plan on bringing are 50 ml. but they might take up too much room in the plastic bag. This is just so ridiculous!! They should accomodate people in first class with special privileges.

no need to tell a frequent flier that this sh!t's ridiculous.

only way of circumventing that: private jets.

even terrorists could buy first class tickets on commercial flights. Private jets are too small and there's no innocent lives they can take.

The best thing to do (at least it worked for me) is to put everything you can in little plastic 100ml bottles and containers instead of packing the original containers in the ziplog bag.

My favorite flight tip is too drink lots of hot water with lemon slices in it. It keeps me soothed, the lemon has vitamin C and a wonderful cleansing effect. The scent is nice also.
Speaking of scent I usually carry 2 vials of natural essential oils. One in Lavender for when i need to feel more relaxed and one in Eucalyptus when I need to feel more invigorated. I just open them and take a sniff if the air is starting to seem stale.

Do you bring your own lemon slices on the plane? That is a good tip. I think I'll bring Emergen-C packets too. I'm going to succumb to the pressures that be and just get a bunch of big travel size bottles and fill them with my products that are bulky or over the 3 oz. I'm only going to be gone 10 days but I dont want to risk losing anything at the airport.

The weather in the NW where I am is AWFUL and planes are being cancelled, (because of lack of de-icing solution...there's never usually snow here for this long) thankfully who I'm flying with has stayed on schedule.

They usually already have lemon slices on board. For people who like it in their tea.
Good luck with your flights.:flower:
