it's so hard to take pictures of bags! I couldn't get the real color to show up on my camera. It's not as blue as it seems in the pictures, it's more green. It's very slouchy too. It's my 2nd nbf, I don't know how I should treat and protect it, thoughts?

Also, I was so tempted by the VD that I didn't even think about how I would wear it during other seasons. My wardrobe is predominantly black and kind of indie rock and roll so I'm worried that the VD GGH would not go along with my style and I won't be able to wear it once summer is over. Thoughts?

I think vert d'eau in RH could be perfect for someone with an indie style! I think GGH makes a bag glam... But with RH, the bag is really versatile! I think the RH Day or City would be perfect!

I can't see your pictures. But I'm so glad it's smooshy and you like it!! LovinMyBags.com has a product called For Handles Only. It protects handles from getting darker with use and since VD is such a light color, I think it's worth it! It's really pricey... $18 I think for a tiny jar...but you barely need to use any so it'll last a long time! I also treat all my bags with LMB's Pro Treament when they're new because it protects from water/oil stains. BUT, these things are certainly not a must. You can use Apple Garde Rain Spray on your handles to protect them... And T&D's bags are treated with something anyway...not sure what it is...a wax I think.. I just know that water spilled on one of my bags before I'd used anything on it and it dried just fine.

nalgene_freak gorgeous VD! I was thinking of getting it in PT GGH. I usually spray my bag/handles with Apple Garde Water and Stain Repellent. So far this stuff has kept my bag waterproof and non-dark handles.

I was just on i-off and read that nbf's GGH says it is "gold plated" does anyone have any more info on this? TIA

I don't see where in the description say that their GGH are gold plated. It just says that it has "giant gold hardware." If they did switch then that would be great . Perhaps nalgene can confirm this with her VD day?

Thank you so much everyone for your opinions on the SGH/GGH Having slept on it and reading everyone's thoughts, I think I'm going to go with my original choice of GGH nalgene_freak, your beautiful photos contributed to this momentous decision!

@All PS1 by Jacky owners... so, are you recommending that everyone skip the bag all together. I mean, it sounds like it's shoddily constructed with no hope of repair. In some cases the handle detaches from the sack . Not to mention, the front clasp peeling off. It sounds like the only way to fix the problem would be to get Jacky to find a whole new way to construct. I know that the authentic has QC issues, but dang.

stylehouseinc, that's odd. Although Catty is the only seller I've bought from, all the items I've received from her have been wonderful quality-wise. My workhorse, her A Wang Coco has stood the test of time and gotten much better with age.

how am I suppose to tell? They don't look like they are painted or anything if that's what you guys are asking. I love my bag!! I want more bags but I don't want any of the other colors coming out.

ViaSarah their GGH has always been gold plated. It means it's silver inside with gold on the outside. It's not real gold obviously.. and it will be that yellowish color. My BF cut one of the O rings before and it was silver inside. It's cheap and that's probably why they use it. They probably just got a darker shade since some people have said it's less yellowish and more warm. You wouldn't be able to tell unless you had the GGH on their older bags so nalgene can't tell us. Other members have posted comparison pics of the newer batches with GGH and the older GGH before though.

What I feel is, Jacky or not, the PS1 is not made for heavy usage. The strap + hook and ring are not sturdy enough even for the medium sized bag, less so for the L and XL. My hook came off after a week and I have to get J to send one to me so I can get it fixed. I have been using the other strap provided by Jacky which is much better than the one that is the exact replica.

The bag is no shoddy work; the leather is great. It seasons nicely so there is nothing I can complain about the leather and make of the bag. So far, it is as good as can be other than the strap and the handle. Re. front clasp peeling off, it only happens to the black PS1 which the clasp is coated. The others, I haven't heard any complains. Actually, I've only heard complains about the black PS1, nothing about the other colours like khaki and smoke other than water spots and the lightened leather after some time.

The multiple compartments are useful, I noticed I became more organised than necessary If PS can make the same bag with sturdier handle and strap, I am certain it can be one hell of a work horse.

I love my PS1.. The only issue I've had with it is that one screw popped off, but I got a new one and got my brther to secure it on. No problems since. Front clasp is not peeling, handle is still there. And I put a fair bit in it.

I always said that the PS1 was a sheep in wolves clothing.
When I got my XL black PS1 last year I immediately had the strap reinforced where it meets the body of the bag as I had read that screws had popped out as posted by fanbao last year when she first got hers.
I used the bag "gently" twice when I owned it, I saw the orig XL at Barney's and Jacky's version is 99% accurate in detail to the naked eye at least...I don't know if the Authentic PS1 is made differently (I would hope so) As always in life you get what you pay for...If the Authentic PS1 breaks you can take it back to where you bought it and they will either replace,repair or refund.
In my opinion and experience with hardware on a replica bags .."It might look the same" but more often than not it isn't, And something will either break or be off or inferior.
But the truth/beauty of buying replica's is most people are buying it for the look ...clearly not for the quality.

I have Jacky's PS1, and while I admit I haven't used it intensively for long periods (I only used it for like two weeks consecutively before I got my paws on new bags) but in that period of time I carried pretty heavy stuff and my bag is fine. And looks great too, leather is great!! One draw back is that I don't think it's really designed to carry a heavy amount of stuff for example the lock on the front doesn't hold the weight very well. In all, I'd say that if you really like it, (the design of it and all), go for it

i have lots of reps that are more than 10 yr old, and they're still in excellent condition. the case with PS1 reps is really minority, and well the same prob also happens with auth PS1. PS1 hardware problems have been discussed/asked over and over again, i think people should just get over this really. and FYI, my sis has the 1st batch PS1 black L/XL, and the bag is just fine, no hw problems at all.

so far i'm also happy with the way our trusted seller like J, Catty, T&D deal with any problems, refunds, exchange, etc. they're pretty fair enough.

i was contemplating a couple of PS1s - a medium and a large - and was eagerly anticipating responses to sanitizedfashion's post. based on what i read (from helens,bisoubis and baga) , i won't be buying either (and especially not the black!) this saved me some money and possible aggravation. i will eagerly await reports of the small ps1 -- if jacky chooses to produce it.
