FYI: Apple Garde and Apple Care are two totally different products. Apple Garde is a spray and here is what leatherstuff.com says about it:
Garde Rain & Stain Repellent


Protects
all smooth leathers, Suede and Nubuck leathers, and fabrics, againsts stains such as
body oil, grease or perspiration.


For new items, this product acts
as a barrier against future stains and damage.

Special wax-free, silicon-free, formulation allows leathers to breathe.

Excellent for all smooth leathers, including exotic leather skins.

Safe on all colors, including delicate pastels and whites. It will not pull or darken colors.

Apple Care is a conditioner and here is what the site says about it:

I use Apple Care on my Bbags but not Apple Garde. I don't like the way it makes the leather feel afterwards... I think many do use it and like it though! I just prefer LMB's Pro Treatment. It's a lotion form rather than a spray like Apple Garde. Just wanted to clarify since the two (Apple Garde and Apple Leather Care) are interchanged sometimes but aren't the same thing.

Cherish: I do't know who received shiny leather on their recent Alexa purchases. Mine is fine,actually the leather is very similar to that on the authentic. I received mine from Jacky three weeks ago.

Hi coco109 & Cerish, it was me who got the shiny leather on my regular Alexa. I just received it last week. Review & pics @ page 235. The leather looked like this:

stiff, thin and shiny

Cherish, i'd say go with the OS Alexa. I saw coco109's pic and the leather seemed thicker and smooshier

Hi all, first I have to say that I am loving all those beautiful pictures of new bags! The PS1 is very much growing on me, but my new love is unquestionably Jacky's nude Alexa. OMG love love love!!

I also bought J's Eniko in black when it was on sale and I'm extremely fond of it!!

Finally J's Hayden....wow! The leather on this is simply amazing! I'm so disappointed I missed out on the peony Hayden!

Right now I'm just waiting on the VD GSH day to arrive (very excited for that!!) and a sorbet iclutch. No matter the argument of the iclutch, I need something beautiful for my ipad!

Mine is regular sized and it is a small bag for me! But the leather on it is just so amazing that I can deal with the tiny bag. I do want to get the OS Alexa next! The nude Alexa is just incredible in person....pictures do not do it justice!

Aww, love. Thank you so much for the heads up, this is why I simply love this thread. I'm sure it isn't bad and only noticeable on closer inspection. I may e-mail Jacky asking how the leather is, but if I don't say it "tactfully" I'm scared he may put me on his blacklist. It's so kind of you to repost the photo again! I would give you a hug if I could! I think the OS Alexa is a little too large for me, so I'm off to draft an e-mail to Jacky...

Before taking the plunge, I saw love's post and hesitated. However, I would think your Alexa and love's were from the same batch? Very odd!

On another note, T&D have informed me that the Galet leather should be arriving this weekend, and that they'll send over photos of it when they can. I'm excited!

lovelovemode - i think you just need to break in your oak alexa and condition it. i thought mine was stiff when i first got it but used it less than a week and it softened up dramatically. per the pic you posted, that leather has potential to be smooshy! IMO j's leather on newer batches of alexas are softer than his first batch, at least on the black one i got 2 weeks ago compared to my oak from first batch

eskielvr - congrats on your loot!!! i like them all!!!

pinkp - glad you are liking your velo have you tried doubling the strap so it's as short as the city strap? i love wearing it like that

ViaSarah: No problems yet, but I've only had it a week! I'm thinking of taking a leaf outta Baga's book and gettint the whole think re-inforced. The PS1 feels pretty sturdy, I think maybe some of the casualties might be because the PS1 looks like a super sturdy workhorse when it's a fashion bag, a sheep in wolf's clothing!

Lovelovemode: Agree with chicadee, use the hell out of your bag and it should soften up. The leather revive I used really removes shine, it would be perfect for your alexa..

Thank you everyone for the bag love It is a bloody fanastic bag and the colour is so versatile, it will go with everything.

All this outremer love is making me super regret not getting the rh city I wanted *sobs* I thought I'd get sang instead, but now I think I want outremer too. I'm a shameless bag hussy!

Eskielvr: Would you say your color of your nude Jacky alexia to be the true color. Your bag looks a bit taupe and the bag on jacky's site appears a bit nude/lighter in coloration. I love your color. If the color is true I may just get one.

lovemode: If your Alexa Leather is not to your liking you can ask Jacky to exchange it for something else. He does not take returns unless a bag is defective or totally off from what I understand.

Cherish: I would ask Jacky how the leather is on the Alexa before ordering. Tell him how you would like the leather to be - thick and grainy and I am sure he can handpick one for you.

I am going to tell him exactly how I want my leather on my Alexa Hobo Oak as I plan on carrying often. I will do this after I wire the money to him.

See my photos. Jacky does have bags with this type of leather. You should ask for it.

Jacky won't take my Alexa, but i think i could work the leather because my Leather Revive just arrived from UK yesterday it looked much better now, i'm sure it'll break in pretty soon will start to use it tomorrow!

coco - i have the auth nude alexa clutch and i ordered the nude alexa clutch from jacky for a friend and the color is identical. the leather quality is so close to the auth - very soft and supple lambskin plonge leather. go for it if you're thinking about it.

chupi - i am liking that luggage rocco! i would imagine it's even heavier than the regular rocco though and i wouldn't be able to carry it without duress

I just ordered jacky's Mulberry Daria fringed satchel in gingerbread as well as the Alexa hobo in oak. I don't expect them soon as the Daria satchel is presently sold out. I will post a full review when I receive them.
