Hi Ladies,
Hope everyone is well and ready to have a great weekend. I wanted to check in with everyone and hope that all of you are lovely. I also wanted to make a quick post to the board just to say how frustrated I've been lately regarding these purchases.

I've been a customer of Jacky since 2005 and I cannot simply say enough words to describe the amazing quality of his handbags.
His bags are always great and never let me down. In fact, one specific Gucci bag (a classic fabric monogram which he no longer makes), was my staple/everyday work bag; which I bought from him in 2006 and carried it to work almost every day since. Well, that bag was so well made that it was only just last week that I discarded it because it was starting to wear at the bottom. But other than that - the bag was still in amazing condition considering the 3.5 years of wear and tear and none of the gold hardware ever changed, rusted or turned color. My only complaint with Jacky, is that his selection in the recent years has been a bit minimal and almost non-changing; and there's also the western union inconvenience as well as the 5 piece minimum. (I wish he would get on the bandwagon with PayPal!!). Other than that, Jacky and his products are truly top-notch stuff!

Now, onto Catty. I've been a customer of hers since last year or so. I've purchased a few shoes from her...and some were better than others (kinda hit or miss if you ask me), but with the handbags I've bought from her - every single handbag has broken, damaged, or fell apart within weeks - if not DAYS of receiving!!!

I had been ordering from her because of the paypal convenience and she doesn't have that 5 piece order minimum either. She's great at getting back to you almost right away, and her pieces arrive quickly but I cannot believe I've wasted so much money on her crap. A few examples are: Chloe Paraty (which I posted here a few weeks ago) - the entire handle came off less than 10 days after receiving, Dior Pouchette - the zipper pull broke off two weeks later, Fendi Peek-a-boo - the closing clasp fell off.

Catty's selection is tempting, and she keeps classic models in stock way more than Jacky does, but this has got to be said: Her bags are crap!

I just really want to refrain from buying bags from her, because it will be a waste for me. Luckily I've been taking advantage of some of the end of season sales like Net-A-Porters which make these coveted bags much more affordable, so I've been able to buy the auths. But still all of this is very frustrating; and I wanted to let you all know so that you are cautious with your next buy from her.

ALSO, one thing to beware of is that Catty's prices are also usually $30-50 more than Jacky's prices. So pay attention and choose wisely.

Aghhhh, my VD city is in transit and I can't wait to get it. All of the pics I've seen by you girls of your VD bags make me excited.

Several years ago I had a VD City and I loved it. It was not from NBF and was lesser quality, but I got a ton of compliments from people who had no idea what a bbag was. My mom convinced me to give it to my cousin (because I had so many bags [read spoiled ] and she liked it) so I did. So this bag I ordered from NBF will be it's reincaration for me. Ahhhh, it will bring back good memories

I'm just worried about the GSH I ordered on it.... I'm kind of regretting it and wishing I ordered RH... I hope it turns out ok

Awww! That's a sad story but happy at the same time since you're getting a new and improved one! Honestly, if you don't like it with GSH, I'd let T&D know RIGHT away and ask if you can exchange it for an RH. I can tell you that vert d'eau with RH is just. so. perfect. I hope you'll LOVE it with GSH and want to keep it, but if not, the sooner you tell them the better! I want everyone to have their HG vert d'eau bag! I myself have three vert d'eau bags coming to me. I'm funding them all from bags I sold so I'm not feeling nearly as guilty as I would otherwise... But yeah.... I didn't even like vert d'eau the first time I saw pictures but when mm posted her pics along with a rave review of the leather (last batch) I got one of the last RH Works from the boys and fell madly in ! It's now my HG (well that and turq) so I couldn't pass up this opportunity! Very d'eau fades so I got a backup for my Work and two new GGH bags. Mine should arrive early next week! Congrats to you and again, I hope you love it!!!

thesiren: I think noix is too dark to pass off as seigle, isn't it? The noix swatch was quite dark and seigle has more of a camel color to it I think.... The noix I saw at Bal LA was a bit lighter than T&D's swatch but similar in tone...kind of a nutty brown... I think it will be beautiful with GGH!! And ITA agree about sorbet. I was hoping T&D's would be the more vibrant, bright pink, the more muted version isn't my style. I think it's pretty, but I don't want it in a bag. It does look like many of the authentic I've seen though because that color varies SO much.

There are no picture of the vert d'eau day with gsh as nobody has purchased it yet. Fall bags are just starting to arrive at the stores in Julyand August. The vert d'eau is certainly being made in all the giant bags with gsh this season. Just because you don't see it posted does not mean it is not being made. I have it from a good source that they are being made this season.

thesiren: i can only say for confirm the giant day, giant part time and giant city being made in vert d'eau with gsh. I never checked on the envelope clutch as I am not interested in that style.

Siegle is in the brown family and very much resembles coffee and Cream. It is a lovely light brown. I actually like it more than noix. Siegle is lovely in the folk bag style.

I really like their iPad clutch but i dont own an iPad just yet so I emailed them asking if they would do one that could fit a laptop. they said they're working on it - yey!

I wish the boys would do moutarde as their bouton d'or failed last time. if they do it, I would get first and velo. - - - i just pre-paid for galet and sorbet though ..... so many good colours recently from nbf. I cant resist!

I am so sad to hear that, I was definitely one of the people "new" on the moutarde list. I wasn't told they definitely weren't doing it.

I was a new person on the moutard list too! That's odd.. maybe they felt like copying and pasting that same response to everyone because they just can't do it. Oh well.

stylehouseinc- Catty has had some bad apples but none of my bags from her have broken. Some were crap but my absolute favorite bag is my prada from her. The leather is gorgeous and it is soft and has broken in SO nicely. i get compliments all the time and it has held up really well. just look at her pictures and examine the leather- if it looks like crap it probably is but the quality of the Prada bag I got from her was excellent and it was way cheap for what i got! it's the best rep i've ever had.

Aww I really hope they get someone to send them the RGGH zippers by the time Bois de Rose leather comes in because that combination would be so beautiful IMO.
