I would sooo get like 2 or 3 black chevre cities.. it would be like having a brand new 2005 black chevre city - which is impossible these days. They're all broken in.. and 5 years old! Anyone interested or has everyone gotten their black fix?

I've just recieved a black weekender. It's amazing! It was a little shiny at first, but I used Leather Revive on it and now it's matte. The leather is nice and chewy, not overly distressed. To me it looks perfect. Will post pics on saturday.

Just thought I’d follow up on my iOffer misadventure with lessons for all:

To recap: I ordered an H Paris Bombay in the travel size from an iOffer seller with zero feedback. I paid $150, shipping included, though he was originally asking $185 plus shipping. I’ve been dreaming of this bag forever and just desperately hoped this would be a good one. I was stupid, the warning signs were everywhere:
- Seller had zero feedback
- Photos used were taken from a current(!!) Ebay listing of the real thing
- Seller ended every message with “Honest!”
- No tracking number was supplied or a confirmation of payment

Sure enough, iOffer sends me a message the next day informing me the seller’s account has been shut down on suspicion of fraudulent activity.

I immediately go to PayPal and start a dispute case for ‘non-receipt of goods’.

The seller responds a couple of days later to PayPal with a tracking number.

About ten days later the package arrives: it’s tiny, nothing that could contain the large travel bag I ordered. I accept it and sign for it mostly out of curiosity. Turns out it’s a cheap replica Gucci watch with a rubber strap.

I call PayPal and say I’d like to change my dispute from non-receipt to ‘goods significantly not as described’. They open the case but the tell me at the same time that they do not extend protection to non-Ebay purchases beyond receipt of goods, as evidenced by the tracking number. So you can order X and be shipped Y and PayPal will not be able to help you. Thus they close both of my dispute cases (‘non-receipt’ and ‘significantly different’) in the course of that call.

I ask them if I had refused the package would they have been able to issue me a refund. And lo and behold, the answer is YES!

I then wrap up the package and tape it up, and take it back to the post office and they happily accept it, scan it back into their system as ‘refused’, I call PayPal and they issue me a refund three days later. Woo-hooo!

Lessons learned:

1. Really double-check those item pictures – Ebay seems to be a fave source for scammers who use photos of original goods!
2. Don’t touch a zero-feedback seller with a ten-foot pole.
3. If you’re suspicious, don’t sign for the package.
4. Note that the Post Office is not supposed to accept opened packages, so if you decide to open it, make sure to close it such that it doesn't look like it's been opened.
5. Pay-Pal will only refund the purchase if the funds are available on the seller’s account. In this case, the seller was stupid and didn’t withdraw the funds immediately.

regarding the chanel cerf/executive. i recently saw this bag at chanel and on a friend who is a stylist and works with a lot of rappers/pop stars. while her style isn't incredibly flashy, i don't think she would carry a faux bag (but who the hell knows, really). she had the chanel cerf and it was COMPLETELY FLOPPY. this bag looks SO different than it used to! it was quite rigid for awhile there and while it does soften up with time, it never becomes a pool of leather or a squishy bag. this newer version of the bag does not look as if it would stand erect without stuff in it, which is very unlike the old bag. from the sound of luna's description of her recent cerf purchase from jacky, it seems the bag is dead-on to the auth. just passing this along for anyone interested in the bag.

Lady-Penelope, i'm glad for you, i once had the same experience and some CS angel from Paypal, told me so, "don't get the package is the only way to get refund if you bought it outside e bay". I couldn't thank him in off.

Anyone still own magenta'05 and turquoise'05? If yes, can you post some pics please, it will help the cause, i think!

it was around a year and a half ago. i remember i pre-ordered the magenta but changed it to the turq when i heard that was coming out. as far as i know it was the turq. I just didn't like it in person, maybe it was just me
