Here are some pics of my Anthra City from NBF. The bag looks shiny but I'm sure some conditioning will take the shine away. The leather is smooshy and distressed, I would say lovely, almost perfect.

I'm not an expert at handles but they look good to me. What do you think?

The silkiest part of the bag is at the sides where I find disturbing. The marbling is alright and is bearable but some parts of the leather are literally white, like it's been worn off.

I am not having a good feeling because the leather feels too thin over there that it stretches with the weight of the bag. Even the seams are starting to expand.

What do you think?

shousame: Yeah, it was the missing stud which prevents me fixing the bag properly which pissed me off the most. I was really looking forward to this bag, and so it was a huge disappointment. :( Please post pics of your BDR when you get it so I can obsessively compare!

ame_sparkle: Unfortunately one of the studs was actually missing, so I couldn't fix it myself (or at least I could only choose one handle to fix!). As to the colour - I know BDR is one of those which looks different in different lights, but sadly this bag is just not the nude icy pink I was led to expect. :(

Uiggu,

I'm so sorry about this! I went through a similar thing last year when I ordered what they promised me was a jet black work. It was not even black. It was a dark sparkly anthra. I sold it to a lovely member who apparently loves it, and so that's cool.

But I totally know how it feels to want something so badly and be reassured that your wishes will be granted, only to be knocked under a train when you see the thing IRL.

Good luck with a resolution.

Haven't posted in ages but I have to let you all know my rosegold PT arrived this morning and it is the most amazing bag I've ever received from NBF! Sheer perfection! Mind is blown. I can post pictures tomorrow for anyone interested. I know the rosegold PT doesn't exist in the US, but it's my favorite style bag so I'm gonna roll with it.

The hardware: looks pretty good compared to pics of the authentic (sadly I don't have an authentic side by side to compare). There's the bales problem, but I'm going to try to fix all my bales with pliers this weekend (will take pics of the results).

Thanks for the photos - your RGGH looks yummy!
I am interested in hearing your experience with the bales because I tried to use pliers on mine (with a thin towel) but didn't have much luck with it and I'm thinking of taking them to a cobbler with a picture of what it should look like. Maybe it's easier to do with the giant hardware bales than the small (more space to grab on to).

One other question - I know the typical measurements of the City are 15" across but mine measures 14.5...is this a known issue with T&D bags?

Here's pictures of the black FC w/GSH I just received from T&D last week. The leather is smooth, matte, and very soft. I love the lack of shine and lminimal distressing. I'm very happy!

bisoubis - is this your first NBF? have you seen an authentic Bal before? i know you said you're not an expert -- and neither am i -- but i have owned manymanymany NBFs and tried on lots of authentic bals, and your anthra city is fabulous, the creme de le creme. i really don't see what's so "disturbing" about it.
the handles are perfection and the leather is, just as you said: silky and smooshy. what little marbling there is is perfectly normal and so minimal it's really not worth being disturbed over. your pictures were taken indoors with flash --a very bright flash, i might add -- which washes out the leather and misrepresents the balance and saturation of the color. the slightly "white" part on the sides where the leather panel meets the piping is just a variation of the hide and it's overall texture. no one would ever notice that, especially in normal daily lighting as opposed to bright, overexposed flash photography.
the "seams" and sewing look perfect and tight, no reason to worry there either. a coat or two of leather conditioner will get rid of the marbling, even out the color and make the already-soft leather even softer. you have a perfect bag with gorgeous leather and correct details... enjoy it!

Hi,

I am looking for a good Mulberry Alexis bag, does one of you know who makes the best?

I got my GRGH city and I love the bag but I don't love the long strap! Is anyone else's really stiff and sort of too wide for the bag? I wonder if I got a wrong strap or a defective strap. I'll post a picture in daylight tomorrow. Other than that the leather is amazing, so soft and squishy. It already puddles on the ground and I've only carried it once so far.

Thank you ame, most of my pictures are taken without flash, with the exception of the first pic of the bag and the handles. The white wash and marbling is as accurate as can be in daytime hence, I am apprehensive. That aside, I do like the front and back of my bag, the leather feels different, this leather is tops! I'm off to look for LR or a good conditioner to condition the bag, hopefully it will look better and I will update.

RGGH <3 girls. They are all gorgeous, the timbles all look spot on!

I've taken a close look at my thimbles today and I think they are too gold and shiny because the black lines aren't thick and dark enough (so the gold 'panels' on the thimbles dominate). So they're not perfect but still pretty good for a first run of the hardware. I've taken some pics so T&D can make adjustments in the future.

If your bag strap is about 37mm wide (same as mine) then it should be right  GH bags are heavier and I think a small strap would dig into your shoulder and look a bit disproportioned IMHO! For comparison, my RH Citys from NBF have 24mm wide straps.

I have the GH in the day style so I've never seen how wide it is for the city. It just seems odd for now but I think I can get use to it! It's just very stiff for now.

just condition the leather with AG or any other brand of leather conditioner and hang the bag by the strap with soup cans or weights (or anything heavy) inside. this will break the cardboard in and stretch out the leather.

hey girls (long time, just been lurking lately) - has anyone gotten blue roi yet? i'm so interested in this colour but with the previous batch of anthracite I was quite dissapointed in the thin and shiny leather so I would love some pics from you girls

just took my RGGH part time, and i think NBF attached the wrong strap. my only other part-time is a RH and the strap is really long. so i measured the GH strap and its length is a little over 24". it says a GH city has a 24.5" strap, and a GH part-time has a 29.5" strap in tPf reference section. before i e-mail nbf about it, can one of you confirm my findings?

nalgene_freak, do we need to trade straps?

hauest, the part time does have a longer strap so you can wear it cross body...
it does sound like T&D sent you the wrong strap...

any girls (or guys) interested in T&D doing white as an upcoming color? the boys want to know if there's any interest because they say it would be easy to do.
I'd love a white GGH part time!

white is very hamptons, martha's vinyard chic. think yachts, azure blue waters and crisp salty sea breezes. so chic and classy.

Just a few pics of Sahara for those unsure of the color. Taken in the sunlight. Some of the pics look more yellow, I think I adjusted the camera mode from automatic to ‘outdoor mode’ as I was taking them. The leather is quite thin and soft. The leather was initially shinier but I treated with a leather conditioner to reduce shine.
