Thanks for all the info, 'lostinemotion'! I appreciate your advice. I think i'll give BE a try... Although I wonder how it compares to other mineral make-up out there (ie. other brands like Jane Iredale, True, Aromaleigh...) Or since they're so natural, would they all be pretty much the same? Anyhow... I like how mineral make up is simple, natural, and so easy!

Unfortunately,
I still have a ton of foundation, etc... from other brands, which are probably bad for my skin; but since I spent so much $$ on them, I feel like I have to use them up (don't you hate that?). Oh, pooh. Oh well, I guess it's good reassurance... knowing you've tried them all before making an educated purchase decision.
I think you may as well can the old make-up and just look at the old make up as a bad experience! Plus this make up, is all you will ever need and compared to other make up, it is less expensive. I feel like I can guarantee it. I think BE were the first to do this make up, and they have soo many free standing stores in the US, that it has to be for a good reason. It works! yay.
Did I mention that the minerals is a natural sunblock, so lots of people who have skin issues use it.

:D
I am sorry about the pink eye! Glad you decided to get the bare minerals. That little kit they sell is well worth it for the brushes alone, which individually are about 20 dollars-35 each.
I love that you can use this make up for anything.
Even their lipgloss is amazing. The only thing I have not tried is the mascara. Which in that case, I am devoted to Bourjois.

I had pink eye last week-- feel better. It stinks! :(

I have dry skin, especially in the winter. I tried Sheer Cover last year, which is also a powder foundation and I found that it emphasized my dryness. How does BE work for dry skin?

Hi Cosmo
I had all type of issues with my skin, being dry/flaky but also oily. Even in winter. I think that you need to use a toner in your skin care to slough those away with a cotton pad. If you need something gentle that also tones, I'd say to try something neutral and nourishing like Phytomer Rose Toner. It's very gentle and I feel primes the skin for lotion, then BE.
Because of the buffing action, it kind of brushes off those tiny flakes, that I get around my nose.My skin improved since using it.
I know alot of times flaky skin can happen because there isn't enough moisture, but could also be products irritating skin etc.
A good skin care regime really makes the skin read for BE..and you will be flawless....

I got the foundation and love it!!! I have been using the blush and eyeshadow already. Does anyone use their lipglosses or lipsticks? Are those made with minerals too?

I use their lipgloss which is really good. If you want a flushed look, just very gently dip your gloss brush into the whatever color minerals that you are putting on your cheek. It gives it a light stained pouty look. I think in the colored glosses, they do use minerals.
It looks sooooo pretty with a light dab of the gold eyeshadow..very very little.
If you get your minerals at sephora, just grab some extra lipgloss sticks that they give out for sampling.
Did you know you can add a little water to the eyeshadows to make a cream?
I know it seems like I know alot about it, but I have been using it for years now.
If you can get to the bare escentuals store, they have even more than what you would get at sephora. OR call their 1800 number on the site and they can send you a catalog. That is what I did, until they opened a store close by.

i got the 'get started' kit last week and i loveeeee it!
i was really suprised at how little time it takes to put it on and how much coverage it gives for a loose powder

Thanks again lostinemotion! I am going to try those tips! You should work for Bare Minerals and be on the infomercials with the CEO Leslie Blodget. I bet you'd sell even more than her! :D

:D
I think I will stick to my day job! ( fashion)
Also, I meant to say try it with their CLEAR gloss! Although I ams sure you can mix it up with their colored glosses.
I realize that every color in their line has a purpose, even if it seems completely ridiculous, so it's all worth a try.
So glad you all like it! I really feel it makes life so much easier , works like magic! :magic:

Just fyi: I think Sephora carries this brand, so you might want to go to the store and test it out in person before spending money.

Yes, I would go to Sephora and have them put some on you....I know you will love it though.

Since ordering the foundation from Sephora, I am a BE addict! I have 3 blushes, 2 eyeshadows, and the mineral veil as well. This stuff is truly the best.

awww, i am soo glad.
Isn't is just so fool proof?
You should try that kit they have out at sephora right now, if you don't want to invest in the full size yet. It has a blush, clear radiance, blush brush, warm radiance-- I feel like it freshens me up for this fall, cold weather, still healthy and radiant...
Cosmo- the lip gloss is cool too. If you get the clear you can mix a little of your blush or radiance in it they say.

This is why I love tFS! My father-in-law's fiancee was raving about BE the other day and I was thinking about trying it. Now that I've read this, I'm definitely getting it :woot:
