Isabel Marant F/W 10.11 Paris

Nothing too exciting.
Some pieces are nice, some not.

overall it very fits marant's spirit, so it's pretty nice. but i deprecate the balmain vibe in some outfits, as for those bling-bling leggings etc. if isabel marant was much more affordable, i've always though it would be the kind of clothes i'd wear. but seriously i can't imagine me in the streets wearing those gold or silver bottoms.

Balmain chick off-duty. yikes.
Alt needs to start her own line. that's the only way Marant would hopefully get back to what it used to be :(

well, I, for one, am relieved to not see another pair of slouchy boots in an IM collection. I think the basic silhouette here is cute ... the capri's with the oversized furs and coats, all the striped sweaters and polka dots ... a bit vintage Paris perhaps. However, her choice of fabrics and colors are way off ... those metallics are terrible, and the sparkly pants  Overall, as a collection, I don't like it. Though I think some of those sweaters will make good basics

There are like 2-3 garments I'd like to wear from this collection, which are basically basics, but the rest.... I don't know. I miss the "old" Isabel Marant before she became super famous. The famous-thingy added something to her new collections as well.. :(

^my Sentiments exactly, who knows, she could easily get the campaign

the shoes remind me of Balmain Fall 2009, its another wearable collection but thats all i can really say to be fair

Very nice indeed. Always a fan of Isabel's Casual-Chic. The shoes remind of me Balmain.

overall silhouette looks very Grease to me.
hate to say it, but the Balmain connection seems pretty apparent. (is Alt still styling both?)
overall, bleh.

though the printed tops look like they might be good apart from the styling.

i agree with you completely!
you can tell there is a lot of balmainism going on.
whatever happened to chic relaxed sexy french marant? :S

Emmanuelle Alt is what happened. I love her, love her style and everything, but there are striking similarities between each brand that she styles, to the point of them losing their individuality. But, actually loved this collection. There are a lot of gorgeous pieces. I particularly love the leather pants.

i think the bowed ballet flats are great, they set off the cropped pants just right. the prints also intrigue me, all in all there is quite a bit that is catching my eye and hopefully the new york store will be open by next fall to have a look.

Wearable, urban, yes yes as always... and I'm kind of tired. There's nothing in this collection just like the previous. Nothing is new, nothing is appealing to me. It's simply gross. This collection is a mess and the styling sucks, the fabrics look poor. Ugh, you used to be one of my favorite :(
