this is just beautiful... absolutely great alternative for daily clothes - for work, for party, for spending time with kids... very chic, wearable, with a touch of luxury.... I love it... and think my best girlfriend would wear 90 percent of this collection immediately

not very impressed.. there are some nice pieces and i do think she does fur incredibly well.. i would love an isabel marant fur coat!
but i agree on the styling...emmanuelle forces her own personal look down over all the collections she styles, and although i actually like emmanuelle's style it just seems kind of lazy and it become so repetitive and boring... but i guess that's what they pay her to do?!

i agree, nothing to do with balmain at all... isabel is more simple, neutral and natural. I adore the simple combinations she makes, it seems so obvious.

I think the comparison to Balmain comes from the fact both collections are styled by E.Alt (Alt being consultant for Balmain ... not sure she does consult for Marant, though ... but her touch is strongly present) so you can compare these two collections as they were 'prepared' by the same orchestra maestro ...

indeed shoulder pads are not Balmain roots (though I cannot historically confirm) ... but they are def. NOT Isabel Marant ... I've known her work since the late 1990s (and probably since her 1st collection) and I can tell you that eventhough we smell Marant somewhere in this ... it screams Alt sweating some Balmain ...
and I hate that ...

even the casting has changed ... she used to make catwalked Roman Boringer or Mélanie Thierry or atypic models ... I'm sure this is the same casting than in Balmain ...

I see Balmain in this , but more toned , true he might have not invented pagoda shoulders and minis ,etc , but he kick started lot of the proportions which have been copied by every other designer , unfortunately

Well I do agree their is definitely an Alt influence in this ...it pretty much screams Alt!...so I guess people would think it looks "Balmain" but I feel like people just keep comparing every designer collection to Balmain or Balenciaga without a proper explanation...it's getting annoying...

Cate-lola - I think she uses real fur...I think Aby (tfs member) bought a coat from her last season and it was rabbit fur...
