Isabel Marant F/W 09.10 Paris

^^ they look like little Alts for sure, I do enjoy some of her looks but that's it....she's turning the brands she's working with into her own aesthetic not the designer's I think :innocent:...

that beeing said I think is nice...this is wearable but, people are already wearing it as meg said.

I'll not begin to like this just because alt is styling their ad. but I like the fur on carmen.

I always enjoy Marant collections, this time is no exception! thank you very much for the pix, Vinciano!

I agree Berlin, not to sound too nostalgic but I think she's only gone backwards since her superb F/W 06 collection.

I don't think consulting is really the problem, the problem here is Alt, she just really wants to see herself through ever collection, caring little about her client's roots or vision. that's my main complain about her, I don't know how she negotiates but she's clearly good at it cause she always get away with sending little Alts down the runway.

Not French here but I guess you're right on your last statement as well, it's a lot more body-conscious and trendy than before, clearly aimed at an older, wealthier crowd instead of young, 'carefree' downtown characters. At least that's the idea I had of her clothing.

Inaya.. what an accurate new term. very true.

I've come to a point where I cannot stand anymore E. Alt !!!

:ninja:

I agree that it's nothing new, but nonetheless there's so many pieces I would like right now!

the Emmanuelle Alt touch is really annoying ... and I can even feel she tried to make a Marant version of Balmain ...

Yes, I see this as well. I was even thinking that this collection is what I wanted to see from Balmain. However, I really enjoy the collection because of this fact. I love it actually.

and I'm very supportive of and excited for any designer who sends "little Alts" down their runway.

i hate those stupid flowy flower-print skirts (UHM??? it's F/W, not spring anymore!!!) and the leather-print stuff (which i always hate...but those shoes...mm, delicious

i also enjoyed the return of high-knee socks for...what was it..3 looks? would've like to see that throughout the whole show

she's done better, imo. completely, wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments from berlin, mullet and inaya. even in her early seasons it was nothing like this rubbish.

I'm not into her past work, so I can have a complete opinion about it... I'll check style.com...
But overall it's a nice collection, a bit simple but I like it, specially the leopard coats.

style.com doesn't cover her shows. firstview has almost all of her collections starting from 1999, I think. but you have to pay. elle covers since S/S 03, you can click here to see some of that, truly lovely stuff.

i love emmanuelle alt, but emmanuelle is emmanuelle, i won't necessarily like a collection just because it's full of "little alts", as someone said here. maybe this is why i think the nicest pieces in this collection are the printed ones - anna s. and natasha poly in post #15, snejana, angela and erin in post #17 and anna s. and raquel in post #18... i also like some of freja's (#17) and anja's (#18, #22) looks - and, i have to admit, that leopard print mini dress on erin...
the shoes are very nice by the way, i'm the biggest sucker for knee-high boots:rolleyes:
now i'm going to take a look at her past work, thanks a lot for the link, MulletProof.:flower:

yes, very good, i like it.
much better than the last few seasons..i'm glad she went a bit darker. it's still trendy and has that casual cool that isabel does so well but it's a bit edgier and less in your face than the last few collections imo. even though they were nice, they went a bit too OTT with the 'cool' factor imo. this is cool but feels like it's trying a bit less hard, which is nice..
i love all those sheer grey tshirts...they are so sexy..:brows:

i think she incorporated the florals in quite well too.. this is well done imo.

I think I like Isabel Marant the brand more and more every season.

This looks like Zara... and only because I feel it lacks an identity, she did not add anything new to it.

It's like a cheap rip off of Balmain and which is getting awfully tiring.. because you can get that at any high street shop.. I find the shiny material used quite tacky.

There are some good coats here, but did she evolve?

i love it, especially the fur pieces and the animal print stuff. it's very cool, and i always love the styling.
