Isabel Marant for H&M

The slouchy fringe boots for women look like cheap paper bags with PVC glued on the backs. Tacky.

Everything is too damn expensive. I'll probably only be able to get one piece, and I'll have to choose very carefully.

It's so tough to judge these things. There were a few items I got from the Margiela collection (blue painted vest, black belt with elastic detailing, navy metallic-looking shirt) but I bought all of them after they'd been reduced in price by about 50-70%. It was easy to do that, because the items weren't selling. However, this could be an easier collaboration and could sell out immediately. There are a few items that I am curious about. I love the chunky men's sweater with the cream coloured waist detail. I think the suede boots look pretty cool, too. But I hate how they're styled with the pants in the lookbook; just looks terribly awkward at the ankles. I also love the look of the navy and black coats - but I wonder what the material is; are they warm enough for winter or are they an autumn thing?

I love the black and white jacket, but I can't wrap my head around paying $400 for something from H&M.

It's okay for "Isabel Marant" outerwear in good wool but I fear it will be a case of just using the brand name to hike up the price.

bloggers and other promoters have already received samples from the line.

I think I may only buy the Long cardigan that Alek Wek wore for the advert. I love the look of it. I do agree, the pricing is a bit much this time around eh?

It's so rewarding to be able to choose at least 4 pieces from the menswear collection, that I actually like and could wear on a daily basis. My problems with previous H&M designer collaborations (for menswear) is that everything was practically unwearable. I'm after the long-sleeved black and white t-shirt/thin jumper which is £29.99 - which I don't think is a bad price.

How is everyone's experience with ordering these designer collaborations online?

In short, a nightmare. I'm sure many people on here will agree.

The best way to do it is to wait until after it's launched, the website's crashed and most of it is sold out. The online store refreshes the stock levels at about 5am. It's early, but you'll find most of the things that went out of stock reappear at this point each day as they release further stock. That's how I've purchased pieces online previously, although generally I've always bought them in store.

i am not counting on getting anything i want in store or online the day of the on-sale date. (even though i was able to get everything i wanted from the margiela collab. last year - i dont think H&M will make the same amount of stock available)

normal H&M winter coats arent warm enough - so i'm not really expecting the IM coat to be warm enough either.

i suppose i will be forced to get the leather pants i want from ebay.

I hope the US online store is actually prepared for the onslaught. I am glad to hear that they restock a little bit every day and don't put everything out all at once. There's not much hope that the location that's closest to me will have the collection, and I'd rather not go all the way over to the nightmare that is Atlantic Station.

Thanks for the info, honeycombchild. I don't think I'll be getting up at ridiculous o'clock to make a purchase, so will just be luck of the draw for me (really really want that jumper without the effort, though).

What i have seen i like. It's very much A like with her normal collection. As a Marant fan, it's a blessing.

I only interested with the menswear belt.. Is there any possibility to have the chance to buy it in a discount price few days/weeks after the first day?

I know the store in Dublin, Ireland is opening at 7.30am (!!!!!) and people will have been queuing all night. I'm lucky because I'm DJing at the launch that day so I get to go in to the store the day before and pick something to wear! Very excited. I agree the price points are very high in comparison to previous designer collaborations but I hope the quality will be worth it.

^I doubt the quality will be worth it when many "normal" IM items aren't...
