Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez - Designers, Creative Directors of Proenza Schouler

I am shocked !!!! I guess LVMH required that of them ? Or maybe they know they can only dedicate creative energy to Loewe.

Whoever takes over, I'd love to see them tap into the beginnings of the brand when they were working with more intense fabrications and textures, and bring back the bustier shapes they were well known for! I think in this day and age when the Celine by PP clones are running amuck with their bland fabrics and big wide shapes, we could use a little more sexy shapes and detailed/crafted fabrics.

Ew they are actually going to Loewe I hate my life at this very moment.

please can someone find something extremely scandalous or toxic about the designers that will cancel them out of Loewe.
I think the only thing mildly scandalous they’ve ever done was when one of them had an affair with Derek Blasberg causing them to break up lol.

I like them as a person, but it’s literally out of this world they are getting the Loewe job. If this was football, nobody on earth would’ve put a single cent on this as a bet.

Even in like the craziest guess they would’ve not popped up.

I always say this, but fashion is such a nonesense these days. Haider at Tom Ford, MB at Chanel (still can’t process it), PS at Loewe, LT at BV, Sabato, the poor guy at McQueen… Crazy, crazy, crazy.

I have been getting very interesting gossips from top designers that I can’t sadly share, but dear lord, it’s crazy how untalented the new breed is.

:-( not fair not share at least hints or general :-)

but agre 1000000000% on all the names just mediocre to new low levels

these guys leaving their brand like they left behind a clear brand image or something for worth saving ....truly nonsense clowns

It will be like Alexander Wang at Balenciaga.

I feel sorry for them already. Loewe by Jonathan has been nothing but amazing.
He shaped something very unique with his own language and I seriously doubt Jack and Lazzaro will be able to reach that level of creativity.
They are just too obsessed with Céline by Phoebe Philo whereas Jonathan is obsessed with craftsmanship and the art world.

I disagree, even though I’m one of the members who has called out PS every season. PS's focus on Phoebe can be attributed to their RTW business model. Jonathan can explore his creativity at Loewe largely because LVMH doesn’t rely on him to drive RTW sales. It's essential to consider their financial situations when comparing their creative outputs. If anything, a more appropriate comparison would be between JW's own London brand (now mostly known for Uniqlo collaborations) and PS's brand

Anna worked her magic.
I don’t know why them but I’m going with an open mind.
I wasn’t a fan of JWA when he was announced for the position and he did his magic with his earlier collections. I was less thrilled by his latest Loewe collections but the pieces and everything were always great in stores.
And it’s probably the brand that has the best handbags line in that club of mainstream luxury brands.
He cleverly embraced the old and made it new.

For me, Proenza Schouler was the brand for NYC people who were cool, who pretended to love fashion and who embodied that fantasy of the Art Gallerist that NYC people loved so much.

It will be interesting to see their transition and to see what will be their approach. They never had any identity but I suspect that they created a project that convinced Toledano and others.

This will be a break it or make it kind of situation. Wang never recovered from his flop at Balenciaga. His controversy later only put him on a coffin.

I think we have to stop this narrative that groups don’t expect people to sell clothes.
Today, every category count.
So yes, RTW has to sell. It has to be profitable and it’s usually the easiest way for clients to create an interesting relationship with the brand. In general top clients buy the RTW as much as the limited editions bags.

And the RTW proposition at Loewe and even at all brands under LVMH has evolved. From the logo tshirt to the eveningwear. The On collaboration makes them believable even in active wear.

So yes, their job will be to create the next original IT bag for the brand but also good clothes. If the clothes have an impact, they will sell more bags. If the hype is great enough, they will sell clothes. From the moment JWA leaves, Loewe won’t be able to rest on the success of the Puzzle anyway.

I remember that… but after that they got together i think….
Obviously, their personal lives are more interesting than their brand, but having a breakup for Blasberg is just something funny. I mean they are both better than that.
