Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez - Designers, Creative Directors of Proenza Schouler

Smells like Peter Do at Helmut Lang spirit...snoozefest incoming!

Agrees with this 1000%… Could be very short lived… (And that wouldn’t be a bad thing) What a very random appointment… Of all the designers who don’t have jobs they choose them? What are they doing right now to warrant this random appointment? I haven’t thought of or looked at what they have been doing in years… Many years at that!!

Also, in their defense, looking back at their S/S 2014 show and don't these seem a bit...proto-Loewe? Not to mention they would all look great on Greta Lee or Ayo Edibiri.

Have yall seen some of JW work? The frilly shorts? I could see someone wearing a pleated maxi dress from Proenza, mora than some of the stuff from JW.

Aside from ripping off European designers I find that these guys have no taste or eye for dressing. Their world lacks a strong view on fashion as a whole. I find their appointment for Loewe a step back - sure they’ll emphasize craft and support Loewes excellent craft prize, but I’m pretty sure they’ll hide behind all this craft stuff. JW had some real ugly clothes, but they took risk and had a point of view, I can see these guys do neither of that. Loewe needs a strong point of view to elevate it above its accessories and if they don’t manage to do that it will surely affect those sales.
I also enjoyed some of the broader cultural aspects JW brought to the brand, the Ibiza collections where funny and on point, the craft prize was positioned with the right artisans and gallerists and his collabs where fun. It’s hard to top this. The best we can hope for is that they continue this a bit.

^ I share your concerns. I'm not so scared of what would happen design-wise, but more like they would make the brand completely void of its cultural aspect - which to me, is what makes Loewe special today.

My only concern is the shoes...but i do like the looks..in fact the older collections were better than the current ones...

the fact is that Loewe is gonna change, JWA left following his own ambitions and the same way PS are doing this, if people like it or not that's another discussion...

I do agree on the cultural aspects of Loewe,i would think it would be a great chance for PS to learn and grow, also i think they will continue this...it's big step for them and also a big responsability...

Let's see what happens...
