She probably was on birth control (I would think so anyway). Its not 100% effective, especially if you happen to miss a pill or something (assuming she were on the pill form).
I'm glad she's going to move to Louisiana and get the heck out of Hollywood. The kid will have more of a chance.
I read a rumor that she hadn't told Britney about it. Are they known to not be close anymore does anyone know?
This is gonna sound crazy, I know, but part of me thinks that she may have done this as a way to get all the attention off of Brit. I don't think she purposely got pregnant, but maybe she was less careful...subconsciously.

As a teenager with sexually active aquantinces, I can honestly say that she more than likely wasn't using protection at the time, but just thought it wouldn't happen to her. Trust me- be it with sex, or driving, or anything, really, teens have a tendency to think we're invencible, and nothing bad will happen to us...
TMZ said Britney is "frantic"...apparently she doesn't speak with her mother and only sees her sis occasionally. But Jamie did not tell her...Brit found out like the rest of us...harsh...
So you are saying that all parents that have teens that get pregnant are bad parents?
I dont know why people get so socked, teen pregnancy have a very high rate and it is very commom. Birth control fail especially condoms which teens use the most instead of the pill.

seriously...i dont think she was either, or maybe just condoms or something...or maybe the spears bunch is just immuned to all those damn hormones...
You mean you think her mother would grow some brains and not allow her daughter to be in a situation where something like this would most likely happen! What kind of mother allows a 16-year-old to live with her boyfriend?

In this situation, I don't hesitate to blame their parents...obviously their priorities were to make their kids famous and parenting was just left on the back burner.
I get what you're saying, but I think that's way too much of a generalization. When I was around 16 (I'm 21 now) and people I knew started doing the deed, I can tell you that 9 out of 10 people that I knew were super careful about it. Yeah, there were those people that thought they had things under control and I remember how one of my friends would panic for every day that she was late. Those are the moments when it hits you in the face. I guess what I'm trying to say is that she was probably a lot more careful than people are giving her credit for. Things happen sometimes, no matter how many condoms or pills you use.
Not to mention the fact that this isn't some everyday teenager. This is Jamie Lynn Spears. Have any of you even seen Zoey 101? My younger siblings are quite addicted and let me tell you, the title character is portrayed as such a goody two shoes, it almost makes you wanna laugh. I'm not surprised that she was sexually active nor am I going to criticize her, because that's her life; whether people think she was ready for it or not. I just think that given the character that she plays, the network she is with and who her sister is, Jamie would have been very cautious about these sorts of things.
Which is why the whole she did it to get the attention off Britney thing came to my mind...like I said, I don't think it was on purpose, but subconsciously....who knows?

I totally get what you're saying jssy4eva and I'll admit... though they do drive like bats out of hell, most of them do make sure that (most of the time), they don't bring babies home to their stay and home moms and plastic surgeon dads. 
I can't bear to watch that show though... the acting is sooo bad, it makes me want to punch things. Really hard.

Maybe she shouldn't have let Jamie live with her boyfriend, that was really no one of her best moves, I agree; but to be fair, the girl has a job, she makes her own money and I would bet good money that if Lynne had told her she couldn;t live with her boyfriend, she would have found some way around it. (Emancipation, for example.)
Furthermore, Britney is a freaking adult with two kids of her own. Instead of people pointing the finger at how she was raised maybe people need to open up their eyes a little bit and make Brit take responsibility. A parent can only do so much for their children.
