Jennifer Lopez will launch a new clothing line next month, and she's taking MTV along for the ride. Lopez is letting camera crews trail her during the design process and as she runs her company for "Jennifer Lopez: Beyond the Runway," set to air Feb. 24 at 10 p.m.
Along the way, viewers will see her choosing styles and fashion models. The series will culminate with a fashion show on the final night of New York Fashion Week.
Lopez turned up on MTV's "TRL" yesterday to talk about the show, her new music and a potential concert tour.
"We're launching a whole brand-new line," Lopez said of the new clothes. "Its a little higher-end, it's going to be during fashion week, it's my first fashon show."
It won't be the first time Lopez has let MTV inside her life.
In 2000, she was tailed for an edition of the network's documentary series "Diary." At one point, it showed her preparing for the Grammy Awards at which she wore the infamous green, cut-to-the navel dress that required tape to keep it in place.
"We've been there during Jennifer's dynamic career in music and film, and now she's well on her way to conquering the fashion world," executive producer Tom Calderone said in announcing the deal.
As for the tour, Lopez said she's never had the time because she was always juggling movies and her musical career.
"I'm excited," she told MTV's Damian Fahey, literally jumping up and down. "This time, I think, I think it's going to work out. I have my fingers crossed. We're very close right now."
