I don't think J.LO is the groundbreaker in that department...

It's on the official FW05 schedule (check the New York FW05 Schedule thread), and i believe there is a thread about it somewhere, possibly "the spot"...

While I have certain preservations about what she will show on the runway, I am excited to see what she does. I wonder if she will hire "real" models, and keep it looking professional. Either way, it sounds exciting to me.

I'm getting a bit sick of all these celebs having their own labels. I don't consider her a style-icon either, she has a good team and her skin looks great but a trendsetter? No way... Besides, I think her dancing in her new video is crap too.

Even though I do like her new video, I do agree with you on the dancing, it's starting to look repititive but it's a good song. Concerning the show I will just have to wait to pass my judgement.

All these celebs should leave space for the new designers that have talent..

Yes its official liberty33r1b :flower:

I just read that Alex de Betak is producing the JLo show...

hopefully the looks j.lo presents on the runway this season aren't consisted of the crap that they sell under her label at macys :yuk:

its not as if NY fashion is some exclusive club of designers....they've been showing crap at the ny shows for years now......the difference is one would expect crap from j.lo...the other so called *real* designers have been churning out clunkers in NY for years now.......

I don't think there is anything wrong with a "fatass" she's beautiful in her body! :flower:

@ Her show, it's commerce a way to keep themselves on the map- some are true others are well exploiting. I just find all of it interesting, while trying to hold my water. :innocent:

I have a feeling it's going to be more like what Baby Phat does...they usually do a high(er) end show, which doesn't end up in stores. At least I hope that's what she's doing...:innocent:

from the NY Daily News...

Jennifer Lopez will launch a new clothing line next month, and she's taking MTV along for the ride. Lopez is letting camera crews trail her during the design process and as she runs her company for "Jennifer Lopez: Beyond the Runway," set to air Feb. 24 at 10 p.m.

Along the way, viewers will see her choosing styles and fashion models. The series will culminate with a fashion show on the final night of New York Fashion Week.

Lopez turned up on MTV's "TRL" yesterday to talk about the show, her new music and a potential concert tour.

"We're launching a whole brand-new line," Lopez said of the new clothes. "Its a little higher-end, it's going to be during fashion week, it's my first fashon show."

It won't be the first time Lopez has let MTV inside her life.

In 2000, she was tailed for an edition of the network's documentary series "Diary." At one point, it showed her preparing for the Grammy Awards at which she wore the infamous green, cut-to-the navel dress that required tape to keep it in place.

"We've been there during Jennifer's dynamic career in music and film, and now she's well on her way to conquering the fashion world," executive producer Tom Calderone said in announcing the deal.

As for the tour, Lopez said she's never had the time because she was always juggling movies and her musical career.

"I'm excited," she told MTV's Damian Fahey, literally jumping up and down. "This time, I think, I think it's going to work out. I have my fingers crossed. We're very close right now."

so it is higher-end than the other crap...thank goodness!!

I'll try not to judge until I see the final product.........but it does make me a little scared :ninja:
