Can any of you tell me what the song that plays throughout the show for this collection is (the one that sounds as if it's being played by a marching band)?? It sounds SO familiar, but I cannot exactly pinpoint what it is...
I had to do some serious research when I wanted to know who was the singer behind the scenes at Dior RTW 2005, and my friend knows a lot about music, she found out that it was Nina Simone  ....I will try to make my friend give it an ear, and I'll let you know, Brian ;)

Thanks, Ale!!
When she figures it out, let me know! :)

Also, I love that Nina Simone song! I thought it was a great choice for Dior to use, although it was a somewhat odd one as it didn't really go with the rockabilly look ;D But I love it anyway and I love how they added that little beat to it ....

It's the marching band version of Ozzy Osbourne "Crazy Train." The giveaway is the echo'd "aye aye aye."

Rock on! :punk:

I thought so!!!!!! :woot: :woot: :woot:

Better than DIOR and an electrifying show with great music! Some of the clothes are beautiful and are filled with ethnic flavor (doesn't look like Yemen though). The Newspaper prints have become a signature for John and it looks very stylish! Great accessories too!
Overall I give it a B+ while Dior is probably a C at best!
The hana fall is not nice but how can we blame the beautiful hana!

I think that the reason why he is so copied is because you do see a lot of ideas but so wasted with so much fabric, there is a point when you wonder if it was ment to look like that. Maybe other designers come up with ideas from a detail and develop a much more wearable outfit.

it looks like he's trying to look jewish. yiddish same thing. hmm...interesting.

i'm impressed that galliano does 2 collections per season and then 1 every couture season.

that's 6 shows a year total.

vow.

and Galliano Homme so it's 8

i'd never be able to handle doing that many collections on my own in one year, but lucky for him he's got his design teams/assistants... :p the case is the same with most other designers.

have to take a look at his shop next time i'm in paris.....hope theres anything wearable to find there....

have you even ever been before? there definitely will be.

this was a very good collection..loved the proportions-it reminds me of a nursery rhyme--extreme boho...he is so in tuned with the trends..i love the newspaper it looks like they are rising out of the garbage--great humor here.

he usually creates the trends, imo...what's shown on his runway is usually the latest craze and copied by everyone else a year later...such as his 1940s/joan crawford collection for f/w 03...the next year, f/w 04, everyone was dressing like that..or at least with that 1940s-inspired aesthetic.

yeah you are right...

its amazing how when u look at the detail pictures on style.com how much detail everything has in each outfit, you really wouldnt expect it!!

I think you can pull about 100 different accessories and clothings from each runway look which is very economical.
Anyway, does anybody have full video of this show? I would love it if it was HQ but I will take what I can get since this is such an amazing show simply I have to have in my fashion show videos.

Never knew that! Thanks for sharing the info :flower:

I want that model show list framed on my wall by the way

What a little treat that is to see the Erin look!

Always, always, always love this show. Bursting with energy and creativity. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
