I hope this is NOT true!

But if it is,i wonder who could possibly take over.:ninja:

Have you heard that Galliano is on his way out at Dior? A source gave me this and the Ferre tip last week before any news broke....

PARIS – Citing strong sales of ready-to-wear, fine jewelry and iconic handbags, Christian Dior said fourth-quarter sales gained 9 percent at constant exchange, to 216.4 million euros, or $313.5 million, while operating profits jumped 32 percent to 74 million euros, or $101.4 million at average exchange.

“The year was excellent, in spite of the exchange rates,” said Sidney Toledano, Dior’s president and chief executive officer. “We are confident.”

For the full year, revenues rose 8 percent to 787 million euros, or $1.08 billion. At constant exchange, the increase stood at 12 percent.

Toledano credited Dior’s 60th anniversary celebrations – marked by a blockbuster couture event at Versailles last July, and a September birthday party feting the revamped Paris flagship – and an ongoing upscaling effort for boosting the brand’s fortunes.

“We’re focusing on more expensive products, meaning higher prices in all product categories,” Toledano said. He also cited a return to Dior’s roots, reflected in “sophisticated” and “elegant” designs by couturier John Galliano. The fall collection posted “very strong double-digit” growth and the cruise collection has also been “a big success,” Toledano said.

why change a winning team, I'd say...

Why would anyone miss Galliano for Dior?? His work has been sub-par for years I quite frankly feel it's time, perhaps Lars Nilsson will be his replacement??

I gasped out loud!! I hope this isn't true!!! Who would replace him anyways?? Nooo!

Sounds alright with me. John's past three ready-to-wear seasons have been really commercial, and it was highly publicized that the execs were trying to damper Galliano's creativity for more salable clothes. I wouldn't be surprised if John would want to leave.

And with the galliano line, he should be in a pretty good financial place himself...

This is really interesting. I'm actually excited/nervous to find how this turns out. It'd be one of the largest turn-overs in fashion history in my opinion. -_-

here it goes - the usual speculation. I saw this headline surprising - but i'll try not to be shocked until I hear it from a reliable source.

a more important question is - where will he go after?

IF he is going to be replaced soon - I will miss him for Dior but hope to see even more action in his own label.

He is absolutely my favorite designer and I would be devastated! No more Galliano for Dior couture??? I love his Dior RTW too, especially 06.

I think I'll choose not to believe this rumor. ^_^

I love Galliano's Dior Couture!

In my own opinion: I don't think he is leaving Dior.

But the day when he is leaving Dior will come, soone or later.

I don't believe it either.
The title of this thread makes me want to cry.
