Celine S/S 2026 Paris

i said it before he said in front of the team at prada to raf thst raf is too nice he should be more strong /mean so people respect and fear him ...he is not nice to models and other teams in general classic nasty fashion basic gay stuff

he wants of course that he takes over casting for prada one day soon and is working on this ...
Ugh I guess one person's yuck is another person's yum

LOL can you believe Jean Georges went from intellectual nerdy Raf to singer hunk Marco Mengoni to shallow hunky influencer Paolo Stella?
He surely knows what kind of man he likes...LOL
I won’t blame him for his latest dating choices. It proves that he has good eyes.
He was RAF’s eye candy. It’s only fair that now he gets some eye candies for himself.

I know of JG as he is part of that squad of few fashion people who comes from a certain part of the south of France (with a flamboyant entrepreneur and a not so flamboyant but rather ambitious executive). I’m sure that beyond the career boost and intellectual conversations, they enjoyed each other with Raf. But I bet he is having more fun today with the « shalllow hunky influencer » ahahaha!

The internet’s ferocious appetite for Celine following Michael Rider’s debut

Whoa! The New-New Celine Boom Is Real

Michael Rider’s Celine debut has generated a major bump in demand for the brand, including for Phoebe Philo–era pieces from the 2010s.

After Rider’s collection hit the runway, The RealReal registered an immediate 13 percent surge in Celine searches. The vintage Phantom Luggage bag, in particular, has become a must-have.
By day seven, searches on The RealReal had exploded almost 300 percent (296 percent, if you want to be precise),
with units selling four times faster than the immediate pre-Rider period.

On Fashionphile,
Celine saw an over 40 percent increase week-over-week.
Likes on The RealReal, referred to as “Obsessions,” jumped 123 percent for the Phantom Luggage style year-over-year.
The surge in interest reflects a newish resale phenomenon, wherein retailers and old brands get a boost from new runway moments.

LVMH, Kering, Chanel, Hermès, etcetera should take note:
They’re potentially missing out on secondary transactions in the time between a product’s runway debut and its arrival in stores.

this is how it feels to see some of your favorite posters having opposing viewpoints in here 💔

jokes aside, as funny as it would be for Rider’s collection to fail, it’s unrealistic to think it will. for better or for worse, Hedi came in and did what the executives hired him for and made Celine mainstream (for lack of better wording).

as much as purists like to put fashion on a pedestal, it’s a business at the end of the day. and most people don’t really care about all the finer details.

take matcha, for example. it was essentially a fancier, niche version of coffee. but as soon as demand boomed (thanks TikTok), supply went down, prices went up, “fake” matcha from non-traditional origins made incorrectly flooded the market, etc.

i’m sure the only complaint from supply chains is they can’t make more to sell more. but for the purists and ogs that enjoy matcha for the preparation ceremony, cultural/spiritual roots, and/or flavor profile, they’re left with paying higher prices, if they can even find some in stock, while trend hoppers don’t even care about the quality as they just take it with artificial syrups and milk to take pictures for social media.

same with Celine. your average person probably doesn’t care who’s creative director so as long as they have things to buy that they like. so as messy as Rider’s collection was, it was smart to go for different directions to get a pulse on what will sell better and pivot towards it. like Albert Einstein used to say, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

doesn’t this just mean people are panic buying before prices for older pieces rise? 🤔

Not a surprise at all, given that a handbag re-discovery like that provides an easy way for that kinda customer to be ahead of the trend while spending a lot less than purchasing a new designer handbag.

Everyone who follows the business of fashion long enough knows that the sale of handbags and/or branded merchandise enjoys a much different customer than the RTW.

Yes.

It‘s fair to assume those bags will enjoy a rise in re-sale value - Either because the designs will be re-issued by Celine at a much higher price than during the Phoebe years, or because it‘s generated a micro-trend with a shorter momentum.

I would compare what is going on here with the returned interest in the Balenciaga motorcycle bag in the last few years - It was/is a handbag trend that‘s much more accessible than buying a Hermès or Chanel but it will likely pass, now that Demna left Balenciaga.

Sorry, but this interaction between Anna Wintour and Tae Hyung from BTS was too deliciously awkward not to share (at 4:50 onwards).

From her commanding him to stand closer to her, to him and his translators not giving a sh*t about Vogue World and instead congratulating her on "her journey"...chef's kiss.

rider should just come clean and say he was pulling from the band dead or live :-) the 80´s the kick boxing shoes, the montana leather short +wide shoulder arm jacket, the white high turtle neck knits etc biker jacket full on studs on one arm leggings
