Jonathan Anderson - Designer, Creative Director of JW Anderson & Christian Dior

LOLLLLLLLLLLLL x10000. Everything about this is wrong. The proportions are way off, the jacket is too short for his torso, the pants are too slim for that jacket silhouette, the shoes are cheap and nasty looking, the buttons of the jacket are not sewn on properly, and don't get even me started on that neck brace! My goodness.

VANITY FAIR

His posture looks awful. The whole look makes him look so meek.

I am far from loving it, but at least that dress offers a decent marriage between the attractiveness I expect from Dior and the quirky touches that are key motives in J.W. Anderson's design.

Either way, I am not convinced these aesthetic universes go well together. I don’t think J.W. Anderson really gets the feminity and elegance associated with Dior, his design feels too studied for that. But, let’s face it, in today’s fashion scene, alignment of style no longer plays a central role when CDs are being chosen to helm a house - Perhaps we need a few major flops (Anderson, Michele, Demna, Blazy?) to shake up the suits - I wouldn’t mind that, if I’m being honest.

Now I actually kind of like that dress on Anya. 🤔
Like @tricotineacetat said, it's the perfect marriage between JWA's quirkiness with what we expect at Dior. It's not perfect, but it's not bad.
yes not bad if he had 3 -4 year at dior behind him and many hit red carpets looks in between this ok!! but at the start after so many poor looks in few days and it looks like Bottega intrecciato its BOOT.

its giving rupauls drag race design challenge or project runway for real the flatness is not modern here it give poor

It’s still not a good look—the dress wears her, instead of the other way around. I agree, it's lacking refinement and modernity.

That look on Josh O’Connor… honestly! He should fire his stylist immediately. Who in their right mind would let him step out like that?

Dior PR really is redefining the meaning of “anticipation killer.”
After those horrendous previews, his debut RTW womenswear can only be better than expected at this point.

It's embarrassing that this early in his Dior career he already needs a redemption arc, but the looks on Anya and Josh — I am fully smitten with them. Anya looks so cool and modern.

JWA is more of a curator than a designer. Without a strong team of design leads, the products lacks the refinement and conviction needed for Dior. All his look so far (with the exception of Anya) would be better fitted for a contemporary brand rather than a luxury brand expected of Dior.

On a side note, Valentino should just snatch MGC back asap - while not fashion forward, there is a large segment of rich girls/women who just want well-made garments that look expensive and classically-pretty.

Anya’s dress looks like something Vaquera would make. Fine for that demographic not really something that should be at Dior. Whatever the reason or excuse for this mess it’s not getting better. Hope he can salvage it but daily it’s a sign they need to slow down or just wait on celeb dressing until the show. Tbh after the Julia reactions I don’t think we’ve seen any other Versace attempts. It might be smart of all of them to wait until the show instead of listening to some idiotic PR department that’s clearly dropping the ball also.
