Kanye West Douche Watch 2009: Taylor Swift Edition

It's sad and pathetic he felt the need to do it.

I also don't really get this whole thing about her not deserving it. It's voted for by the public? She got those votes, Beyonce didn't in that particular award. Therefore she's fully deserving of the award in my eyes.

Although I really don't like Taylor Swift and I completely agree with Kanye that she shouldn't have won, the way he went about voicing his opinion was completely ridiculous. I felt so sad and embarrassed for Taylor. I was also just really disappointed in Kanye.

However, I must say that it does not excuse some of the racist comments I've seen on twitter and other social networks. Not here, because you guys keep it classy, but Perez Hilton blog comments and things like that. It's disappointing to know that if someone of a certain race is a complete douche, then it's automatic grounds for racial slurs.

I agree ... of course race makes no difference as to whether someone's an a$$hole or not ... it's a completely equal opportunity thing  It's nice to know there's a level playing field for once :P It is true that when you see discrimination for real, it can become difficult to distinguish when it's happening and when it's not. Everything starts to look like discrimination. Then if you get mad and start spouting off ... well, you look like Kanye.

To be honest none of the nominee's were that great this year. Not to mention, the MTV demographic does not have good taste. So, in my opinion, any award or nomination from MTV and the kids that watch it is undeserved.

I agree with a post at LaineyGossip that these moments are all he has to remain relevant if his creativity is drying up. It's possible that he continually needs to make himself into a martyr (in his mind) to inspire something for his music. All this attention, no matter if it's negative, feeds into his ego.

^ I hope he finds his own ego pretty inspiring then ... I for one do not.

I happened to catch an encore showing of the awards after I read about this late last night, and I swear seeing Taylor's face when it happened was kind of hard to watch. She looked like a kid who just had her puppy taken away.

As for Kanye, his arrogance and stupidity has been well documented. But this is on a whole different level. Publicly embarrassing someone on live TV during their acceptance speech? Why they didn't throw him out of the event after that is beyond me.

Man that guy sure had an attention wh*re show of a night. I'm surprised no one has really mentioned how he showed up on the red carpet with half a bottle of liquor. So he had to of been trashed. And then pulling this stunt.

I gained a ton of respect for Beyonce though. Giving Taylor a chance to come on stage and have her moment was the classiest thing of the night. Also what Pink said in response to this whole thing. The guy is a TOOL and he's doing this for the attention. The public has created a monster. The more press and attention he gets the worse he's going to get. I'm sure he is loving every moment of this.

Congratulations to Taylor Swift on winning her first Moon Man from last nights MTV VMA's. As for my views on what KanYe did, check out my latest YouTube video, "What Was KanYe Thinking?"

Wow, people are getting pretty salty about this whole thing, huh? We already know that Kanye has an ego so huge no one can measure it, so I don't know why anyone's surprised. I don't even think he's to be taken seriously as a person anymore. I was amused by the whole thing. And if Taylor Swift isn't getting that worked up about it, why should I, or anyone for that matter? And this was partially Taylor's part too because she let him take the mic and after he was done she didn't attempt to kick his *** as she should have. I guess that's not ladylike.

I don't care what anyone says though, I still love me some Kanye. BEST COMEDIAN EVER!!!!!:mohawk:

Taylor definitely needs some assertiveness training ... but she shouldn't have to deal with an idiot like this either.

speaking to all the "men" in this world.....there are men and there are boys, don't be a boy be a man.....my five year old son whines when he doesn't get his way cuz he's a little boy.....what's your excuse Kanye.

kanye was just wrong. taylor need a tupac "hit em up" -style revenge song.

i am hesitant to say this but i am suspicious about the authenticity of this too. :ermm: it did seem terribly staged.. the whole thing.. taylor didn't seem as shocked as i would have expected her to be, and the way she stood there with her award in silence afterwards, just smiling, it was bizarre.. she didn't seem stunned.. she looked like she was just resting, observing.. i don't know, i would believe it either way because kanye seems to be a bit of an ***, but it does seem fishy..

i would hate it even more if it was a PR stunt..

Apparently he did get thrown out straight afterwards, you'll be pleased to hear. I for one was! Though I agree that the backlash is getting a little ridiculous, and in particular the racist slurs. I can't imagine that's at all what Taylor would wish for anyway - she's clearly articulate enough to express herself without lowering herself in such a manner as some of her bigoted 'defenders' are. If anything this could turn out to reflect badly on poor Taylor, which I would hate as I just love her.

I am so not surprised.

Kanye was wrong and this incident can only make her career grow larger. In a perverse way, Kanye did more harm to himself and his actions will increase Taylor Swift CDs and MP3 downloads. So call Kanye all the deserved non-racist names you want (the racists comments on other sites were truly out of line) Bottom line Taylor is not the wounded one here in the end.
And don't forget how classy Beyonce was inviting Taylor back on stage to finish her acceptance speech.

since Jay-Z wasnt in the audience at the VMA's, do you guys think he really would have went up there and ranted like that ?

poor taylor, you could tell she was mortified and embarassed beyond belief.

as for the end of the night with beyonce, i cant help but think she only called taylor out to do damage control for kanye.
beyonce is known as a diva (and not saying she doesnt have a heart), i cant help but think maybe she did this to make herself look good..

Kanye truly is a troubled person. And I absolutely LOVE the fact that certain celebrities (Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Katy Perry, etc) didn't sugarcoat when discussing what he did to Taylor.

And I can't believe that people are saying that they "lost respect" for Kanye after this. Where the hell have these people been during the last few years??? They should've lost respect for him a long time ago. He hasn't changed one bit.

Kanye West is a pathetic excuse for a man. What he did was absolutely disgusting. His sense of self entitlement is sickening.
