I wish Kate would go after more film roles, but if she feels advertising for fashion is her best way for financial stability, I can't blame her given the numerous reports coming out from women in Hollywood about how bad and demoralizing the sexism is, even for long established actresses who should not have to worry about having to deal with sexism.
But I do wish it was a bit more subtle. I do think she tries to make it as much her own fashion as she can (as say, compared to Jennifer Lawrence and Dior, where the ill-fit for each other has always been obvious), but it still sticks out. Also, it would help if she wouldn't always pose for the paps. But, on the other hand, maybe it's her way of being honest about it this whole fashion thing.
