its great for topshop, this should sell extremely well. but, to be honest it will probably look like typical topshop because they take so much influence from ms. moss

I thought that. Topshop has copies of most of the stuff Kate has worn anyway. I guess it will be the same kind of thing but with Kate's name on it.

I'll still buy it all though. I'm a sucker for Topshop. heh

we'll just have to buy it online, i guess. of course we'll get killed on shipping. topshops site fell though in NYC. so we are going to have to wait a lot longer.

I would definitely buy something. I mean I already love 90% of what Kate wears. I expect I'd like most of what she designs.

90% of what kate wears can be recreated by shopping at forever 21. you don't need topshop for that.

and you really CAN get that everywhere already...
i mean...she already looks like she shops there as it is...
i don't see how they can make it special other than putting her name on it....

i guess in london that would be enough to make it sell...
there are so many kate fanatics over there it seems......

I hope it looks good... just because someone has style, it doesn't mean they can design clothes (ie, Tara Subkoff)

That said, I'm sure Kate has had enough years in fashion to know what will work and what won't. Needless to say, I'm very excited!

Of course it'll look good!!! It's Kate Moss for Gods sake lol. She is the TOP on the fashion ladder...thats why they want her for TopShop

Actually in London, well at least at the forefront of fashion (the early adoptors!), there's a bit of a Kate Moss backlash going and has been for a while.....

Yeah sure, the permatan wag wannabes still cite Kate Moss as their fashion icon and people say that when they don't quite know what to say. Her influence is great but I think by the time this stuff for Topshop comes out, people will be like 'So what?'
Also, if they are planning on making is readily available with permanent collections, big production and going online then well..... I'm pretty sure there won't be so much hoo ha over it. I'm intrigued to see it but I agree with Soft.....if you want the Kate Moss look, people recreate it already by buying Ghost jeans, the exact Repetto flats. There are Kate Moss influences EVERYWHERE on the high street not just in Topshop and you can easily go a la Moss in every store.

Conclusion: Topshop saw an easy buck to make and took that opportunity. I respect them because they work with the new gen designers (Weardowney, Ann Sofie Back, Gareth Pugh etc...) but this is just not that special at all.....

I dunno, I think Kate Moss really does deserve a serious chance at designing, the woman knows what she's on about.

^I'm not saying she doesn't deserve it but I would have preferred if she did on her own right and that way, she would be without constraints of budget. There's only so much you can do with mass-produced Topshop. It doesn't sound like it's going to be a limited collection like some of the other Topshop designer collaborations. Therefore its ubiquity will hurt the design I think....

I dunno....... maybe it's what I'm observing from teenagers (well...maybe my sister and her friends aren't the best examples since they're self proclaimed renegades!)..... I do quite indepth research about trend adoption and for me, you may not be able to see it yet, I feel like there is a bit of a backlash going on.....

I like the way Kate dresses, but I don't get why people credit her with some of these looks. Skinny jeans & ballet flats were around before she even became famous.

Also I'm wondering whether she is actually designing anything. She's quoted on Style.com with this- "I'd sort of like to be able to say, 'I love this, put it into production,'" she mused this summer. "Not like a designer collection, but we'll see."

Sounds like she'll tell Topshop what she generally likes, then the real designers will do some sketches, and then she'll say Yay or Nay. Is that really "designing"?

She won't design if I understood correctly... she will "edit", or suggest according to her trend radar... anyway, I don't really see what's so special about it since she mostly wears simple basic staff which people copies... they don't need to be made especially....

I think she should only make her own global brand when she learns how to actually design professionally. Not just by looking and deciding if she likes it or not...anyone can do that. She'll probably end up like all those other celeb designers but slightly better.

I was thinking about those items too...
same old, same old for sure.
Hopefully Kate really is ahead of the trends as everyone says all the time...
she will come up with some new looks.
I don't know how many skinnies there will be....
Kate seems to be tired of that look herself.
