Kate Moss For TopShop

They added two (cheap-looking,) metallic dresses online.

those metallics look horrible
and i seriously believe there are much better (as in fresher) looking low price collections out there

as for the line being 'young' to me this is not even young enough
the way i see this, it's caught somewhere in the 22-35 group

it may be just me, but these clothes must look quite dated and grown up on most girls under 22

ha ha are you serious? Does Beograd have a topshop? I wonder how many items you'll get there.. Do you know when as well? lol sorry for all the questions just interested...

I went to this HUGE sale Tuesday. No queues and stuff to die for. I got:

-An original blue silk and lace bustle dress, c. 1877-8 -£8
-Black silk Louis style shoes – free
-Erte type red moiré drape silk caplet with grey curled ostrich trip -£5
-1917 micro pleated mini striped silk and lace skirt- £5
-Pink silk waistcoat, probably 1890s, with black topstitching- £5
-Mans 18th century coat - £18
-7 meters rose watermarked silk - £5

Total - £50

Yes, this is the right thread. My point is all of this stuff is uber cheap and I will never see anyone wearing it. Obviously some things I bought for study only, other things were simply mint, and completely wearable. I wore the shoes that day, with mismatched sky blue and lavender fingerless wrist gloves, a white cotton lace dress I made, a black leather belt, and a black velvet ribbon round my neck. I thought it was cool. You may not. That is ok. But, I never saw anyone in the same oulfit.

What was the hoopla? Red jeans? Whoop-de-do, I have pink skinny jeans I got from my mom- she wore them back in the 80s. I wear them because I think they are cool- not because some magazine said which celebrity to worship this month. Denim shorts? Get them at Primark, Levis, wherever- all denim shorts look pretty much the same. Mossy didn’t invent them.

This is why I love go fug yourself. The media will proclaim someone a style icon, but never show you their fashion mishaps. All of them wear crap, just like the rest of us.

The only notable thing was that was in the collection was the white one shouldered dress- and even then, no, because every club in London will have a girl in that dress in 2 weeks.

What is the satisfaction in knowing that the 3000 people behind you in the queue will have the exact same clothes? Or even worse, you actually *want* to copy someone? Inspiration, ok, but copy?

And you even get to pay for it?

I know I sound like a elementary school teacher, but please be yourselves- after all, would people worship mossy if she just copied someone else all of the time?

I am NOT bashing people on TFS, but the general frenzy. I work in Oxford Circus, and got to see the craziness firsthand on my way to the tube.

^^^^^^^^well said! i totally agree with you!

I just don't understand why everyone is buying into this collection when they know thousands of others are going to be wearing exactly the same!

Before the collection came out me and my sister really liked the look of the pansy blouse and she actually bought one online, but after hearing about so many other people having exactly the same top, she's decided to take her's back:rolleyes:

I'm just wondering if anyone saw the grey pin striped boy cut trousers and blazer that Kate shows in the Vogue mag?

OK I'm annoyed. I just recieved my online-bought black hotpants but they're too big. I bought a Size 10 and I'm pretty sure I am size 10. The qaulity is really not impressive but I really liked the design (the buttons along the sides) and I was in desperate need of black mini shorts so this pair was almost perfect for me. Ugh, now I not only have to return it, I can't even buy it in size 8 anymore because it's gone from the online store (so I assume it's sold out.) Did anyone else find the hotpants size labelled smaller than it actually is?

i really liked the red dress on kate. i don't see it online, so i guess it's sold out, right?

It was limited edition, only 100 made.

I'm hoping they cancel my skirt order at this point. I wanted it for a replacement for a shimmery velvet BR one from several years ago that I lost. Of course I found it this morning hidden in a box under a bunch of summer clothing!

I think the Daily Mail article just proved that older women cant pull them off. I think you have to have the right look for them NOT to look awful!!

Thing is - why would we want to? I'm 37, I know the collection is not meant for me. I know it won't suit me. I ditched hotpants about a decade ago. Big deal. They write such rubbish in the papers.

just an update,

my order DID get cancelled because of either me buying 8 items or because card is registered different address.
so now, i dont even feel like getting anything anymore.

the HYPE is OVER!!

Checking ebay, doesn't seem that buyers are ready to pay twice the original price. I mean nothing like massive bidding. Eh eh there's a justice after all... I was actually thinking that Primark being so marketing clever, we may just end up finding pieces inspired from KMTP and THAT would be funny.

i honestly don't see the point in selling this stuff on ebay, esp if topshop.com is selling the same items! the only reason to buy from ebay is if topshop does not ship to a specific country. but buying from ebay comes at a price. and i noticed that most of the items on ebay are the same items from topshop.com. there's only a handful items that are actually from the stores not available on the website.

I think the big mistake sellers have done here is they all had the same idea at the same time and underestimated the law of offer and demand... They would probably have made a profit if they had waited that their item was truly sold out and not so available on ebay itself. Oh well, why should i care? :D
