Kate Moss For TopShop

hurray! finally the spotted bustle dress is here!! ive been waiting since december for that to come out! (that dress and the floral lace panel dress were in the christmas fashion show)

i wonder what the delay was...could be a quality control problem:doh:

but im not going to pay 330 dollars for the bustle dress...that would be madness. :stuart:

not when a lot of things are going on ebay for 50-80% off afer sales roll around...

i like the fact that some of the silk items here say they are machine washable....

the blue star print top is quite nice i must say...

but overall, there is nothing here that i am going to purchase as of yet..but when sale time rolls around...definitely!

Im disappointed. I dont really like anything at the moment. The star print blouse is ok but I wish the stars werent so tiny.

I would have been all over it if it had been a collared shirt, but I always seem to have problems working with mandarin? preacher? style collars.

i just bought these sandals online, i cant wait to get them...counting down the days!!!!:buzz:

I just realized that I have to create a netbanking account, arrgghh, I hope my size will be left within this week or next week, I really need to get my fingers in many of the items:D

I ordered the white broderie anglaise jacket in both size 8 & 10. It didn't look too good on the website shopping page but I love the idea of it - it looked like it could work in the promo pics. Due to the ease of ordering - I'm now able to use my french billing address now and have items shipped to my parent's London home - I also just ordered the ugly/possibly (hopefully!) beautiful sequined and beaded bolero also in 2 sizes.

I hope I'm not too disappointed when they arrive - I would have preferred to buy instore but seeing as back in the UK until next Tuesday there's a likelihood that I would miss out on anything decent if I left it till then.

mustard, dont forget to put the source for you image or it will be deleted. thanks.

i also dont like non-collared shirts...:ninja:

I just popped into my local TopShop this afternoon to check how the clothes look like in real life. I got a feeling that the sizing in general seems to be true and doesn't run smaller like the previous collections. Being a size 10 myself, I had to get size 12 for trousers, fitted waistcoat and some tops from the previous Kate Moss collections but when I saw the star-print blouse this afternoon in the shop, I could totally fit in a size 8 comfortably. My local Topshop doesn't seem to stock every item that is available online (or maybe by the time I went there, they were all sold out, but I strongly doubt it tho), e.g. there's no sign of the boyfriend blazer, the broderie anglaise dress, the Grecian jersey dress or the skinny lace-front trousers. Maybe only shops like the one in Oxford Circus stock everything.

Are the striped flare jeans only made in a 32 lenght??
I'm about to order know:D
Some thing are 'unavailable'...what does that mean? Not the same as 'out of stock', right?

There are different lengths to choose from if you buy them from the shop. I don't understand why they don't offer the choices online.

As an employee I can tell you, only the highly trafficked stores will carry the full KM collections.
Most of them will get the jeans, shorts, 3 dresses, 2 pairs of shoes and a couple of tops.
Kate Moss doesn't sell out very quickly I'm afraid. It did at first but the collection has such a bad wrap now for quality and sizing that most people don't even give it the time of day.

ANYWAY, saying all that, I actually quite like this collection. It's nothing incredibly but it's definitely has style to it. I don't feel myself being especially draw to anything in particular but I think it's still her best collection so far.

The only thing that bugs me are her tailored, baggy t-shirts.
Topshop Boutique have been stocking them for awhile and it hasn't bothered me, even though they're so clearly a rip-off of The Row design.
Still, I'm worried that Kate Moss is going to get pegged as being the " root" of this trend when really it's been the Olsen twins and NY fashionista's in general.
Kate Moss gets credit for everything and if she gets credit for this one I'll probably rip my own hair out!! Lol!

stamaholic, can you tell us more?

i think we can expect another new set of items in may (thats when part 2 of the collection came out)....have you heard this?

is it true that topshops are likely to put out old but full price KM for topshop merchandise alongside this new collection? ive been looking for the lace cape...im hoping i can find one...

also, as you may have noticed ebay UK is FULL of KM for topshop items (older items)...where are these sellers getting these garments so cheaply?

I'm rather disappointed. Some stuff is so boring (like the plain tops and t-shirts, they look like from walmart ). It's like she didn't design them by herself.
But I love the butterfly shirt!

Certainly try! :flower:

Yeah, I have heard this. I also heard ( although I dunno how true it is) that this collection is going to be slightly bigger than former ones.
During the Christmas sales, all the stores got their usual memo about how to layout the KM sections and where I work my manager was making a thing about needing a bigger section.
Now, perhaps we're just getting more stock than usual but that's not what I've heard. I've heard this collection is bigger; not hugely so but significantly anyway.

Not so sure about this one.
Most stores, if they still have things like jeans from last season, will probably slip them in with this season and try and sell it anyway even though strictly I don't think they're supposed to! Lol! But money is money and a pair of jeans sitting in the stock room is lost opportunity.
But if you look online there are one or two things that have reappeared, e.g the spotty bandeau dress ( a few big stores had this during Christmas I think) and obviously the buttoned vest tops.
I can't be 100% about these things though, so sorry! Just keep trying ebay!

No clue, quite frankly! Lol! It's not Topshop selling via ebay though as far as I'm aware. I'm sure you get professional ebay sellers who will buy in bulk for their own business reasons.

So yeah... probably haven't helped much but they're def good questions! If anyone else knows more I'd love to hear their response!

I was just about to say that if one doesn't need to own/wear the KM clothes immediately, she can almost certainly find them in a few weeks' time on eBay and prob pay a lot less because there are lots of sellers who seem to specialize in store returns or the so-called 'new factory second'. I got quite a lot of my Topshop clothes, KM and non-KM, this way and it's a lot cheaper than buying directly from the shop. I've no idea how those eBay sellers resource a lot of hot (and non-hot) items from Topshop but I'm glad they're there. Those sellers do usually tell you there might be imperfections e.g. missing sequin, small holes or even odors with their garment. So far all my purchases are perfect, just like the ones you'd find in the shop but without the actual TOPSHOP label. But if you read some sellers' feedback history, there are indeed buyers who aren't happy with the quality of their purchases.

Of course there are still very rare KM items that even those sellers can hardly get hold of, e.g. the tuxedo jacket or the black lace dress, and when they do, the price soars!

so did the spotted bustle dress actually come out with the christmas collection and was sold in a few big stores last christmas? that might mean the dress is really rare nowadays...hmmn. i hope it is not limited..because i really want to get it at a cheaper amount.

also has anyone noticed that some of the more expensive items are now marked "kate moss premium"? i think this is an attempt to sucker people into buying things at higher prices...

i have also had good luck buying "factory seconds" on kate moss items on ebay...i am still wondering where they are coming from! i am told there are no topshop outlets...

I'm sure one got returned to our store, although we didn't actually sell it so I'm presuming it was sold in London or something - one of the big stores - unless this person somehow managed to get a hold of it exclusively!

Isn't Kate supposed to have a " vintage" range as well? Is that the Premium stuff??
