La prairie skincare thread

I was using the 'shocked' smiley because I'm jealous you got LP products for free. I havent ever broken out from using LP and I have really sensitive skin myself. I'll have to try some Caudalie products though, after reading your raves about them. ^_^

I've been using La Prairie for 6 years now. My skin is perfection, i love the new Caviar Eye Luxe Cream, its light and not greasy at all and you could see the difference within a week! defintely a must.
Worth every dime!

^^Ahhh I was pondering between getting that or ReVive's Intensite Les Yeux or just getting them both. I have the Luxe Caviar for face and only use it at night..it's just not hydrating enough for me in winter so I use it in the spring, but I'm anxious to try the Eye Lift. Thanks for bringing it up and adding what you think.

I absolutely love the Skin Caviar concealer foundation. Sadly, the concealer on top has ran out but the foundation isn't that bad either. It's kind of pricey for a small bottle but the foundation hasn't run out in forever so I think it's well worth it. Their cellular powder finish products are also amazing. I have a bronze one that I don't see on the website but it says fun on one side of the bronzer which is just a lighter shade of brown and on the other side it says sun which is the actual bronzer and it's obviously shimmery and whatever. Very cute and has it's own side for the ... thing you put it on with. Honestly, I'd recommend this brand to everyone.

I never understood why they didnt sell the concealer separate. Our clients used to have that problem ALL the time. You would use up the concealer and still have half a bottle of foundation and have to buy a WHOLE new one just to get your concealer.

Its very wasteful.

Well if you're going to use the foundation anyway, it's not wasteful, but I agree, it should be sold separately. The Nurturing Complex I mentioned is the same packaging as the Skin Caviar foundation. The flip-top lid has a balm inside it which I havent used much yet but I assume I'll go through the serum more quickly. In the end, it's all about profit, babe. And LP have been raising their prices.

Seriously. I mean in some aspects it works, like the Cellular Microdermabrasion Cream. I've had that for a year and it retails for $225. They've raised it now to $245, and they did the same with the Cellular Nurturing Complex. I just got the Complex for the first time and I like it...you must use a product for 28 days to see results, and use it daily, and I dont use it daily out of wanting to preserve it  so it's a bit annoying, and the whole flip-top lid thing...since I'm not using the balm, just the serum, I will have another serum purchased and two balms.

Ianastar on another note, did you ever use Lysait Cleansing Milk from Sisley? It's 8.4 oz and $109 but I love it! I've never really ventured into Sisley apart from their cleansers...so dont advise anything please! I already will be in trouble when I hopefully work at Neiman's!

New products! I want the tonic!

The magic begins deep beneath the oceans of the world. Wild marine plants compete for sun, oxygen, and space in a brutal struggle for survival that makes them incredibly strong and resilient, with extraordinary anti-oxidant capabilities.

La Prairie has developed a proprietary aquaculture, with procedures comparable to the hydroponic growth of land plants, in order to harvest, extract and ferment these ocean botanicals and derive the exclusive protective benefits of Advanced Marine Biology products.

This night solution is an amazingly light, yet highly concentrated solution and carries within its concentrated liquid-gel matrix a wave of repairing, rehydrating, and replenishing nutrients. It contains La Prairie's exclusive Cellular Complex, which helps stimulate the skin's natural repair process, moisturizing and energizing with nutrients that encourage optimal functioning.

1.7 fluid ounces.

How to use: Apply in the evening after cleansing and toning.

I just on TV this morning that Consumer Reports tried and ranked 9 anti aging creams. The listed La Prairie as the WORST (at the bottom) in terms of how it worked.

and....if you can believe this...they put

Olay's Regenerist at NUMBER ONE!!!

I've tried a few of their skin care products before, and wasn't impressed. I think they are formulated for much older skin.

Ianastar do you know which moisturizer they were rating? I think I'm through with La Prairie, except I do love their glycolic Retexturizing Serum.

Why am I through you may ask? The Marine Biology Tonic (pictured above) broke me out like I've never broken out before. I got three CYSTS, that began to scab up. I have been applying Polysporin to the scabs daily and finally my face is starting to look normal again. I was/still am pissed. It's partly my fault because I didnt check the ingredients thoroughly enough but it's full of seaweed extracts, essential oils and fcuking mineral oil! Evil!

Ugh. I'm sticking to Natura Bisse, some Biologique Recherche, some Dermalogica, ReVive, and Clarins.

I dont remember. You might be able to find the article on Consumer Reports.

Love La Prairie! I use the cellular range which I find the best for my skin (thank god because it's the cheapest range they offer) the caviar and marine biology ranges did nothing for me. Next week I'm going for a LP facial, so excited! It's my first facial ever! (If I don't count a horrid experience in Budapest...)

Hiii....,

Yup, for regular facial I'm happy with La Prairie. I had an experience last February (this year), I had a big pimples cause lack of my activity and unstoppable work loaded, I went to La Parairie facialist, it was an amazing result. She gave me serum and a dose of something to kill the pimple (doesn't have the name). I could have a big smile afterwards.

^^ That's great!!
I don't get acne, but I'm sure it will give my skin a boost of some sort!! I'll post back with a report when I'm done

Yes, I suggest to do it once in month. The product is so rich. I prefer during winter.

Once a month would be nice, but then I'd had to starve to afford it :p.
Is it cheaper in Switzerland?
