La Redoute

I've been browsing the spring/summer 2005 collection online and I can't seem to find what cloud 9 posted, they are all to die for.Could it be that they seel some stuff in only certain countries? These are going to buy my new purchases from them for the summer:

I think that might be the case..I've browsed the french, british and swedish redoute..and while most stuff is identical there are a few items that is avaiable at one site but not at the others.

 the rainbow sandals tho' I have a feeling my feet would get blisters just looking at them :(

the raiinbow sandals are almost an exact duplicate of the ones prada did last summer...

wow...!!!...i really love them...thanks for posting them laineybugz...
and welcome to TFS>>>!!!:flower:

cacharel...

so...FYI...
i got the cacharel swtr and skirt and they are CRAP>>>!!! :yuk:
bad fit ...bad materials...and just basically cheap looking...
so i cancelled the coat...

i tried everything to try and wear the other pieces...
i added pins to the swtr...i tried mixing with other pieces in my wardrobe...
NUTHIN'...it still fits badly and looks cheap...i even considered altering the sweater to improve the fit....

but in the end...i know i will never wear these things out of the house...
so i called them yesterday and they said ...just send them back...
yay!!! :woot:

so i am returning the crap...and getting this vanessa bruno dress instead...woohoo!!! ^_^ ...
i also love this bag...but am feeling like a greedy pig so i think i'll skip it... :ninja: :innocent:

Thanks for the report softgrey!!! :flower:

I've been looking at their site for a few years, but have yet to order anything simply bc I've been burned so many times ordering things on the web. The thing I really don't like about their site is you can't zoom in on the clothes...at least not anymore...and that always makes me suspicious. That said, I've read you're other posts and I take it you've been pleased with some of your orders. I am interested in the Bruno things as well - I wish I could see the bag closer up! I want to see what the leather is like, etc. They really should make their site more consumer friendly.

I would love to hear more reports about you're upcoming orders...thanks again!

you're welcome luxmode and raimund...
luxmode...the bag i carry everyday is vanessa bruno for la redoute...from a couple of yrs ago...before la reoute was available in the US...and i have been very happy with it...

but it's suede, not leather...and it's easier to get away with cheap suede than cheap leather...my concern is the hardware looking cheap... and i think cheap leather actually looks better in white...because it's coated anyway..so the quality really won't show...i'd say the white is the safer bet...but i have two wht lthr bags already that are very similar...and it's killing me...wah!!!.... :( ...
at least if one of you guys gets it...and posts a pic...i can live vicariously through you... :brows:

here's a pic of my bag...it's not a very good pic...sorry...the bag's a bit beat up by now...but keep in mind i've carried it practically everyday for about 2 yrs now...

i know.. prince...ramosport is usually a fortune...

i got some other stuff too...but i'm not done yet...

**tip to US residents...keep each order under $200 or you will be subject to additional customs fees...

if you are splitting up your order...don't do it on the same day or the same will apply...

i had to order the outfit yesterday and then i ordered the coat today...i;m ordering a couple more things tomorrow...

i ordered this thing...it's odd but i think i will love it...i got the print...if i like it when it comes i will also order a black one...just call me madame softgrey...

Your bag looks great! Two years with me and it would be destroyed
I'm wondering about the hardware as well, and I think you're right about white leather...I didn't know it was coated. I'm still thinking about it, I'm not sure about the shape yet. Thanks again! :flower:

christann and luxmode ...you're welcome... :flower:

and thx for the compliment luxmode...the bag has really served me well...
i think the shape of the new one is amazing...and the price is too good ...

i may break down and get it... :innocent:

Thanx for the welcome soft grey ^_^ .More future purchases form la redoute for the summer-wish it would come now!

isn't that the cacharel skirt?...

that's the one i'm returning...i wasn't so hot on it once i got it...i'm still annoyed about it because i loved it so much in the picture... :(

that tank is cute...i guess it's 'inspired' by the chloe pineapple top stella did ... ^_^

thaaks for reminding me you took it back before I ordered it, isn't it annoying when the item looks good in the picture and you get it and it's totally different from what you expected it to feel or look like.I have problems with sizes as well, I ordered a shirt dress and a tunic in a size UK 6 and they looked like they were a UK 12/14, and I'm not even exagerrating!I wasn't happy.

I to was thinking they must've got inspiration form the chloe pineapple top to when I saw the tank, good thing it's at a snip of the chole price.

I've been comtemplating getting the Gaultier trenchcoat..but the colour strickes me as dull (I would prefere a warmer sandy colour)... has anybody bought it..and what are your thoughts on it ? :flower:

hi hanne...
well..i haven't bought it...but i actually like the colour...
i think it will depend on your skin-tone...i find some taupes have a little too much green/yellow in them making my skin look grey-ish...it's a tough colour...

but i like the piece...i like the epaulets on the shoulder and the length...
does it come in blk?...that would be very cute as well and very audrey hepburn...
i imagine it with capri pants and ballet flats...

tres chic....B)

I was sent large card pics of the coat so I was trying to analyze it for you!

They call the colour "cream" which I wouldn't agree with - it looks like a light grey or taupe, but I think it's a nice alternative to the usual trench coat colour. The length is nice and the striped back yoke is also good! That's my favourite bit!

Have you noticed how creased the coat is in the photos? there are terrible big lines on the lower half...and I assume the stylist did try to iron/steam it...Makes me wonder if it will be delivered in the poly bag so crushed it will be hard to make look presentable.

Thank you for your advice Softie and Stilista :flower:

This is why I partly HATE ordering things on-line..you can't try, touch or be sure of the colour.. and the back and forth bit is a hassle.
But *sigh* I do feel the need for a nice trenchy

The Gaultier trench is part linen. I imagine that might turn into a wrinkled nightmare.

hey stilista...could you request a sample for a shoot(make-believe)...or is there a showroom there...?

i can't get samples easily because they have to ship from europe...maybe you could check it out ... if you have time... :flower:

Hi Magatha, I'm getting those boots too but from Topshop as they have a fold over flap at the top that allows you to pull it up over your knee which I quite like. But no I don't think they look cheap-they're lovely, they looked really good on Kirsten too

I introduced one of my friends to redoute.com today. She was impressed.

I really like a couple of things...enough so that I am actually considering an order, and I don't buy clothes, especially not from catalogues!
