Alber Elbaz on Lanvin
"Mr. Saint Laurent told me when he would take a piece of fabric, he would throw it on [the model] and then he would ask the model to make it happen. That was the story of the collection: You don't wear it; you just put it on."

from style.com ...:flower:

i love that quote

his collections are very refined they can be very girly or very woman i find his collections very romantic almost fragile the shoes are always very fit perfectly with his collections, he told me " i want to re-introduce fragility and emotion to fashion,my way"

althought i thibk he needs to change a bit beacuse i know what expect of him all his collections are very similar.

Dior4ever--did you speak with Alber Elbaz?
Fragility, yes, I see that very much, at least in this collection

That's awesome, dior4ever. What was he like? What else did he say?

he is very confident about his collections he knew what he was talking about not shy at all,and we just talked about the collection and i asked him if he was happy this colection was over and he replied im already thinking about the next one..and the typical how are you etc.

Ok I guess. Couple of nice pieces.
I am not over the moon though like I was with his last A/W collection.

cool ...
thanks for sharing your firsthand info...:flower:

it's funny...because when i was consulting for a particular designer...
we worked on just the opposite...showing the 'strength' of women...
the tagline i came up with was...
'the myth of fragility shatters'...

*rather ironic that a man would focus on the fragility of women...
while women want to focus on their own strength... :innocent:

That is interesting. I think a combination is good; I find both strength and fragility beautiful in a woman.

well...all women and men have both...
it's just a matter of what one chooses to focus on...

well..that's not what you said...:p...
you said in a woman...

;)

 Okay, I'll rephrase...

I find strength and fragility in a woman equally beautiful, so I like to see clothes that have a combination of the two.

i would have to agree with your very well worded statement alex..:flower:

:D...
