Lanvin Pearls

I think they are very pretty, but I am unclear about what they actully are made of. The description at lanvin.com says the pearls are "wrapped in black velvet". I though they were wrpped in silk? tulle? If anyone who owns a stand could clarify that would be great- I can't see enough detail in the pic- thanks-
im pretty sure mine are wrapped in tulle...unless its a really, really thin piece of velvet?

hey. it doesnt look like the tulle goes over the pearls at all.
That's what I was thinking, it looks like the pearls have been threaded with a piece of tulle. I've seen some necklaces around which have been threaded with a thin piece of ribbon, it looked really pretty too.

I absolutely adore these pearls!
They are just gorgeous. I would pay that much for them if I had the money.

Care to post a picture? :flower:

I have a pic of my first attempt at them. I made another where the pearls are pewter and the tulle actually goes around each pearl. But these are quite cute in their own right.

Pearls

Thats really cute. I would love to see the other one you made also.

I wanted to make one but I couldnt find the pearls or the tulle. :(

Oh they're great oceanharlot! Did you just find a tube of tulle at your local fabric/craft store?

that pic I used sheer seamless ribbon, but since I have made them with tulle, just cut it into 1 inch widths. it doesnt fray as it is net and then just thread it through each pearl and have another strip of the tulle to go over and tie in between and over each pearl.

Yes, I am home now and working on mine and i think it is easier to thread it through the pearls, because the space between each 'pearl' isn't far enough apart. where can one find individual fake pearls with holes in them? However I will keep trying!

i really like them too!! i think there are 2 kinds, ill show pics up later. tehyre selling on EBAY too. i wonder if they make fake lanvins cause i hagte fakes and cant tell if its fake or not on EBAY
anways chanel charges like $3000 + for fake plastic pearls but theyre soo cute with teh CC logos and 3strands! ahhhhhhhhh pearls

so like i cheked ebay and asked he sellers qs if they come in Lanvin boxes and all they said was it comes in a lanvin dustbag, i wonder if it is authentic...

I made one back in the day. I purchased a bolt of tulle ribbon & some faux pearls from Ebay, cut the tulle about 1.5" wide, and just left a LOT of length to work with. (You can always trim it later.) I started by tying a knot, then I wrapped a pearl in the tulle and knotted that in place. Just keep going until you have the length you want. Couldn't be easier. ^_^ I gave mine to my sister so I don't have a photo.

I haven't seen fake Lanvin pearls before but it doesn't mean that there aren't any fakes...the authentic ones don't come in boxes, they are in some kind of a linen/cotton bag with black satin ribbon tie, I think they are beautiful and unique
