Lanvin Pearls

I think the pearls are beautiful and feminine. I would definately wear them if I could get my hands on a string

I also adore them. I plan on trying to make a pair myself once I get home :woot:

lovely!
but what bothers me is how LANVIN is going up in prices just through some good media and PR

anyway, i guess they were gonna be in the limelight sooner or later B)

Thanks for all the pics, the pearls are really beautiful. I agree with pradaromance, they idea is very novel and refreshing to me. tiffany7 and mehg, it would be great to see the ones you make. post a pic when you've finished!

how would you go about doing that? would have to make a tube of tulle, then knot in between each pearl?

I'm not entirely sure. I will have to experiment with it when i get home. However, I have an idea of how I could do it I'm just not sure I could explain it and even if I could explain it, if it would work
Will give everyone an update when I get home :flower:

ETA: After looking at the pic closer I think the way I was planning on doing it might work. It's to take a long skinny (as in narrow) piece of tulle, knot it at one end to create the ties and then go and individually wrap it around each pearl and then continue on down the line and knot at the other end. When the tulle is so narrow like that it should create a problem between each pearl. Does that make sense?

slightly confused, but i hope it works!
post a picture i'm dying to see your version!

i wonder if you have to make a tube of tulle or can just wrap each pearl?

well i have faux pearls but no black tulle right now so we'll have to wait a week or so until I get back home!

i think i've figured it out. there are three different parts that thread in, around and over the pearls. A thick, flexible string or wire in the middle, a tulle or sheer ribbon overlay and a thin black ribbon that ties in between each pearl and hold everything together.

no i don't think it's as complex as that. i think it's just the tulle in between each pearl not a thin black ribbon. the tulle just looks like that because it's been twisted or pulled tightly.

They're soo nice

245$ isn't that bad, considering how much Chanel charges for plastic casette-style earrings, necklaces and clutches (or whatever that purse thing is supposed to carry)

I think they are very pretty, but I am unclear about what they actully are made of. The description at lanvin.com says the pearls are "wrapped in black velvet". I though they were wrpped in silk? tulle? If anyone who owns a stand could clarify that would be great- I can't see enough detail in the pic- thanks-
