THE DRESS: DOWN TO THE DETAILS
Lauren's stunning gown uses a combination of intricate details to highlight the unique nature of the dress, all the while allowing the former model's natural beauty to shine through.
The long sleeved, high necked dress is gives the dress a demure feel from the front, but it has a modern twist with a cut-out back.
Though certainly distinctive, the long sleeves and lace-like nature of the dress draws comparisons to the royal dresses of Kate Middleton and even Princess Grace.
The headpiece adds a touch of Twenties glamour to the ensemble. The most recent fan of the style was Kim Kardashian, who wore a diamond-encrusted headpiece at her ill-fated August wedding.
While the value of the dress has not been released, it is clear that they spared no expense: the top layer is featherweight antique ivory tulle. The tulle was then embellished with silk and metallic thread, following a Renaissance-era scroll design that took 100 craftspeople over 3,000 hours to sew.
'Any experience of a girl picking out her wedding dress is amazing, but I have to say it was really special to work with David’s dad, to see him in action with his team,' she said.
This was a busy summer for Ralph Lauren, as his only daughter Dylan, 37, married in August. The two weddings, and the two dresses, felt very different as Lauren's played-up the 'rustic elegance' of Colorado's mountains while Dylan's was set in the family's estate in Bedford, New York.
Dylan's duchesse satin, silk tulle, and georgette embroidered dress had a nine-foot long train. She wore her hair down with long waves.
